BRThis structure is a 10x12 detached office. Prior to starting the build I wanted to give Monopoly Framing a shot. This is my take on it. The primary envelope is completely enclosed and this layer of roof sheathing was fastened to the structural rafters beneath the primary sheathing. The 2x furring strips are fastened to the rafters through the @zipsystems and the rafter tails are secured to a ledger which is attached to the structure using structural screws at the end of each rafter tails. I used Simpson hangers to reinforce the strength of the rafter tails. This roof is solid though. The primary layer was waterproofed with Grace Ice and Water shield and this will also be added to the second layer of sheathing. Creating an outlet for any water to escape was a fun exercise in getting creative as you’ll see from the diagonal furring strips. Lots of lessons learned through this process. More room to grow but I enjoyed this process and look forward to applying it again in the future but with a few modifications.
