Running has become one of my clearest mirrors on my Motherhood journey. Not because I’ve chased pace or distance but because it’s taught me how to move forward through discomfort, doubt, and change. In my early postpartum days, my body didn’t feel like my own. The pelvic pain was intense, and I could barely balance on one leg. I started with walking, built up to light jogging, and eventually found a rhythm that felt like mine. There were seasons I stopped running altogether, but over time, my body started longing for it again. Not to perform but to release, to reconnect and to remember that I still belonged to myself. At four months postpartum, I jog-walked a half marathon and then quit running altogether. I didn’t feel fast or consistent, and for a while, I didn’t even think I could call myself a runner. But my dear friend @allybparker once said to me, “THE MILE IS MAGIC” ✨and that shifted something in me. I stopped focusing on how far or how fast and started focusing on how I felt. I made space for one mile at a time. Not to prove anything, just to move, breathe and begin again. Now, at 21 months postpartum, I run three to four times a week. Not because I have to, but because it clears the fog. It strengthens my body and my spirit. It’s become less about performance and more about presence. Running has helped me redefine what strength looks and feels like in this season. It’s boosting my confidence and rebuilding the trust I have in my body. Now I know for sure that if I lace up, step out, and move with intention, I am a runner. I am an athlete. I am enough. If any part of this speaks to your story, I’d love to hear it. Running isn’t always about chasing a PB or ticking off goals. Sometimes, it’s about sanity. As a mum, you spend your whole day giving—to your kids, your job, your life. Running becomes the one thing that’s just yours. No one asking for anything. No noise. Just you, your thoughts, and a moment to breathe. It clears the mental load It helps you reset It brings you back calmer, stronger, more present And the best part? There’s no pressure. No expectations. Just showing up for you. And somehow… that’s where the real strength is built 🤍 If this is you, drop a 🤍 in the comments or send it to another mum who needs this reminder. #mumlife #runningmotivation #postpartumnfitness #runformentalhealth #womensrunning

Taking up running in 2026? Save this 💾 Don’t make the same mistake I did 👇 I got hooked straight away. Ran too often. Increased too fast. Felt great… until I got injured. The biggest mistake beginners make isn’t lack of motivation it’s doing too much, too soon. Your fitness improves faster than your joints, tendons, and bones can handle. That’s why the 10% rule matters 👇 Only increase your weekly mileage or training load by around 10% at a time. It might feel slow at first, but it keeps you: ✅ Consistent ✅ Injury-free ✅ Actually progressing Running rewards patience. Build it slowly and you’ll still be running this time next year 🙏🏻 #runningforbeginners #newtorunning #runningtips #runninginjury #runningmakesmehappy #runninginfluencer #runforhealth #runformentalhealth

I started running to get fit and lose weight, I kept running for my mental and physical health. I ran in memory of a friend who had suffered from depression, I ran to ease my own anxiety, I ran to do something positive each day. When I started I ran along the Thames Path in London. I didn’t know it was trail running, I just knew I liked being next to the water (and it was easier without traffic lights!) but as I’ve kept running, I have sought out routes that calm me. Runs next to water, through trees, away from the noise of the city. Trail running has been shown to help ➡️ reduce stress and anxiety ➡️ increase confidence ➡️ improve sleep ➡️ boost mental concentration ➡️ promote mindfulness ➡️ reduce depression Anyone else find peace on the run? Some people see running and the gym as a way to change their body. (which may i add is great) But For me, it’s how I keep my mind together. There have been days where training was the only thing that got me out of my head. The miles, the weights, the sweat... it gives me space to breathe. I’m not chasing a number on the scale. I’m chasing another day here. If you train for your mental health too, you’re not alone 💚 #runformentalhealth #fitnessmotivation #runningtherapy #gymmindset #mentalhealthmatters
