BUCall me a hopeless romantic, but I truly believe a bookmark can change a life.
I’ve always wanted to make a film about those brief romantic moments if I’m being honest. This brief time suspended in the air where you feel connected to someone without knowing her name nor her favorite colour. This fleeting moment between train stops.
It’s a film about those train crushes I had on my way to school, a chapter you never actually open, an idealization of a person based on nothing but their appearance. Immature? Sure. But it felt so incredibly alive. Primitive, even.
I still like to think a bookmark can change a life in other ways, too, like when you use it to consistently mark your place and keep reading every single day for example. Hence, if I win a prize, a significant amount will go to a charity to foster access to books and readings to kids in need.
