梁朝偉：「從沒有拍過一部電影這麼快樂，這麼具啟發性！」

早在2023年公布，由匈牙利女導演伊迪高安怡迪（Ildikó Enyedi）自編自導的新作《寂靜的朋友》（Silent Friend），請來梁朝偉主演，也是偉仔首度參與歐洲製作。電影在香港國際電影節首場放映，請來導演親臨香港，偉仔一盡地主之誼，親自出席映後談。 他甫出場，馬上引來全場尖叫。

映後談約20分鐘，偉仔全程微笑，伴在伊迪高安怡迪身邊，有時也摟着她的肩膀。二人都為對方大笠高帽，伊迪高安怡迪說，《寂靜的朋友》完全是為了偉仔度身訂造寫的，當初創作時，也不知道對方會否接拍，偉仔則笑言，自己一早就是她的影迷，戲當然要拍了，而且籌備了六個月的時間，加上拍攝，根本就是一次改變生命的經驗（Life Changing Experience）。

三段故事，三個Outsider
「早在九十年代，我就來港參與香港電影節，我很喜歡這個城市。但這次我很緊張，因為今次我有機會有梁朝偉合作。」伊迪高安怡迪：「我們在全球進行小型的巡迴放映，我非常感謝朝偉，他非常慷慨地答應配合，也為我們跑了一小段歐洲巡迴。這次帶着這部電影抵達香港，對我來說，真的是一趟非常漫長旅程的終點。」她說，最初創作《寂靜的朋友》劇本，就是為了梁朝偉度身訂造的，「當時我還不認識他，甚至不抱任何他會接受這個角色的希望呢。」

《寂靜的朋友》共有三段故事，一是梁朝偉飾演的腦神經科學家Tony Wong教授，在疫情下被困在德國馬爾堡（Marburg）大學裡，展開對銀杏樹的研究；二，1908年， 同樣在馬爾堡大學， Grete是該校第一個招收的女生，她考進大學時，遭受嚴重性別歧視，後來她致力學習攝影，成為植物攝影大師；第三段故事發生在1972年，農村少年 Hannes 本來討厭植物，他認識了正在研究植物感知的女大學生Gundula，她當時正以種植的一棵天竺葵研究植物感知， Hannes漸漸發現自己能與植物溝通。

伊迪高安怡迪說，片中的女人Grete 、男孩 Hannes 、教授Tony Wong，還有那棵銀杏樹，他們全都是「局外人」（Outsider）。「三人都是孤獨的靈魂。正因為他們不屬於某個體系，也不想融入其中，所以他們也是自由的——自由地去探索、去發現。這與其說是關於女權運動早期的衝突（雖然那很重要），倒不如說是為了展現處於體系之外的困難，以及隨之而來的自由...
