Here’s my full 5 year plan, come to fruition now 🫶🏿 Everything I did to go from ICU nurse to CRNA. I’m not an anomaly, just an extremely determined young woman, always had that ambition 🫡😤 What’s not seen is an extreme amount of grit & a plan that I was willing to follow more than my mood or any set backs. Tiktok saw it first 🫣 but still applicable. Ask any questions you like, no e-book necessary 😉 free game. #crnaschool #srna #nurseanesthesia #crnaschooladmissions #icunurse

The MINIMUM requirements to get into CRNA school include: -BSN degree -1 year Critical Care Experience About half of schools require GRE, most expect or require the CCRN, and all expect shadowing a CRNA To stand out: -Get high acuity ICU experience -The average CRNA student has 3-5 years ICU experience -Get involved in committees, leadership, precepting, and charge -Shadow as often as you can -Keep your GPA competitive by retaking any science courses below a B and consider adding on grad level courses if your grades were poor -Get involved with your state association -Take on quality improvement projects and/or research -Focus on becoming an expert in your speciality Most importantly, if you don’t get in the first time, don’t be afraid to apply again. It’s competitive for a reason. You are capable! #crna #srna #rrna #icunurse #newgradnurse #travelnurse

Last year, over 130 critical care nurses interested in applying to a graduate nurse anesthesia program attended a Diversity CRNA & Airway Simulation Lab at Samuel Merritt University. . . Also, in attendance were 20 nursing students of color who were in attendance and networked with CRNAs ! . . This student career and educational trajectory is purposeful! . . Many nursing students who attend our Diversity CRNA Information Sessions & Airway Sim Labs or Diversity CRNA School of Nursing Tour are first generation college students who are highly motivated but just need proper career and educational guidance. That's it, honestly. . . www.DiversityCRNA.org . . #diversitycrna #futurecrna #pipeline #crna #srna #srnalife #nurseanesthesia #nurseanesthesiologist #nursingstudents #hbcu #nurse #hispanicnurses #blacknurses #indiannurses #asiannurse

1. Become a registered nurse first. It’s the only way you’ll be able to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. 2. Obtain a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Some people who have an associate’s degree in nursing choose to complete the bachelor’s portion online so it’s easier to still work fulltime. 3. Find a position in the ICU ASAP. You know yourself best & you don’t have to listen to people who say get med surg experience first.I know it’ll be tough especially as a new grad but you got this! Ask questions and learn as much as you can. When it comes to which type of ICU you should get into I would say whichever one you get a job in(check if the program you’re applying to accepts NICU or PICU experience as many prefer adult ICU experience) From there, I’d say join a committee, display leadership, and take care of the sickest patients so you can become super comfortable managing drips and critically ill patients. 4. Don’t tell anyone at work you’re applying to CRNA school. You’d be suprised how many people will try to talk you out of it because it’s something they wished they could do themselves. You just don’t need that negative energy. 5. It’s never too early to start researching programs you’re interested in & their requirements as they may vary. 6. Take the Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) exam. It may or may not be required but most people will be applying with this certification and you want to remain competitive. It also helped me with clinical questions during the CRNA school interview process. 7. Take the GRE if the programs you’re applying to require it 8. Shadow a CRNA. Make sure you know what a CRNA does before you decide that is your path. 9. Apply to more than one program if you can as it is super competitive and you want to increase your chances of getting into a program. After 1 year you can start applying just check as some schools want more than 1 year ICU experience. 10. Be prepared to write a personal statement & to interview should you be invited for one. 11. Come up with a solid financial plan as you likely won’t be working while in CRNA school. 12. WHEN you do get that acceptance, celebrate because you did THAT!

P E R S I S T A N C E. P A Y S. Far too many people abandon the pursuit of CRNA School after one or even two application cycles feeling Iike it must be destiny for them not to become CRNAs. Rejection is a certainty in life, so embrace it early. But please do not let rejection deter you from your dream if it’s one that is deeply implanted in your heart. Grind on. #CRNA #SRNA #Nursing #CRNASchool
