SOThe Salt Spring Saturday Market is back for the season — and there’s nothing quite like it. 🌿🧺
Running from April through the end of September, this beloved market fills the heart of Ganges with local goods made or grown right on Salt Spring Island — all sold directly by the makers and growers.
Parking can be limited, so consider arriving by bike, foot, transit, or carpool. Bring your reusable bag and wander through stalls of handmade goods, fresh produce, snacks, and more. Roll out a blanket in the park or meet a friend, it’s more than a market, it’s a full-day outing.

2. Ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo, drive to Crofton, ferry from Crofton to Vesuvius on Salt Spring

All the eats from my 3 days 2 nights trip!

• classic (pork) oko hiroshima
Cute Japaense food truck that specializes in okonomiyaki 🇯🇵 We tried the classic pork Hiroshima style okonomiyaki (it has noodles!) It was saucy, delicious and packed with ingredients
2. @mavericksicecream
• peach & golden plum sorbet 🍑
Small batch ice cream shop we stumbled upon! We loved the peach sorbet - super refreshing & resembled the taste of the actual fruit SO WELL. The golden plum one was great too

• iced lavender latte, iced matcha latte, latte
Cozy & relaxing cafe with a lot of outdoor seating 🍃 I definitely recommend getting their espresso-based drinks, the coffee is smooth and strong!

• birria taco, mushroom taco, esquite
Looked good but the tortilla was quite dry & the fillings lacked flavour. The esquite was the best item I tried, it’s corn off the cob mixed with mayo, zing & feta 🌽

The charcuterie board was amazing and the spread from @saltspringkitchenco really elevated the board, it tasted so good with the meats and cheeses. Our favs from the cider flight were: Saskatoon berry, blood orange and dry 🍎

• almond croissant, breakfast sandwich, miso chocolate cookie
the BEST spot for pastries and baked goods! 🥐 the almond croissant was so flakey and buttery, and the breakfast sandwich was so delicious and filling! I definitely want to come back to the island for them. Note that they are open thurs-sun 9-3pm

seafood chowder was creamy and loaded with potatoes and salmon. The mussels were so fresh & the white wine sauce was pretty good! However, food took almost an hour to come

A solid spot for Montreal smoked meat sandwich! Even better than the one I had in Montreal lol Meat was tender and the pickles went so well with the sandwich 😏

VAA 100/10 experience through and through. It's the simple things that make it so spectacular. Enjoying a great cup of coffee on the deck overlooking the sparkling sea. Having incredible, fresh homemade pastries delivered to your door for breakfast. Reading a really good book while lounging on the most comfortable bed. Sipping a glass of wine by the fire while watching the sun go down. This beautiful, luxury yurt is an oceanfront accommodation on Salt Spring Island offered by @thehenandhoundfarm and it's a true ode to the west coast. Would you stay here?! 🌊🌲

We started our morning at Rock Salt Restaurant & Café, where breakfast is made from scratch with local ingredients and served with ocean views, an amazing start to an island day.🍳
Lunch took us to Salt Spring Wild Cider, where the menu pairs beautifully with organic, small-batch ciders pressed from heritage orchard apples.🍎
And to end the day, dinner at Feast, a true “fish. forage. farm.” experience celebrating the island’s bounty, from local seafood to garden-grown produce.🌽
