#SantaAnaPD Homicide Detectives are seeking the public’s help in a 2025 homicide investigation. On January 2, 2025, at about 7:30 p.m., Gerson Ramirez Perez (37), stepped out of his home in the 1400 block of S. Minnie Street to throw away his trash. While in the alley, Gerson was shot multiple times and later pronounced deceased at the scene. We have very limited information regarding this incident, although it is believed that multiple witnesses saw what happened. Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Corporal Bruns at (714) 245-8441 or SAPD Homicide Section at (714) 245-8390. ***A reward is being offered for any information on this case through the Gang Reward Program.

#SantaAnaPD #PressRelease Arrest Made in Child Pornography Investigation SANTA ANA, Calif. (August 27, 2025) — A 37-year-old man was arrested at his home for possession of child pornography. An investigator from the Santa Ana Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force discovered that Juan Diego Rodriguez (37) of Santa Ana was downloading Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) from the internet. On August 27, 2025, Special Crimes Detectives served a search warrant at Rodriguez’s residence in the 400 block of S. Poplar Street. During the search, multiple electronic devices were seized, and evidence related to the downloading of child pornography was located. Rodriguez was arrested and booked at the Santa Ana Jail for Penal Code §311.11(a) — Felony Possession of Child Pornography. The Santa Ana Police Department is proud to be a member of the Los Angeles Regional ICAC Task Force, which is dedicated to the investigation and prosecution of individuals involved in the abuse and exploitation of children via the internet. #SantaAnaPD #TrafficThursday Earlier this week, a driver was traveling through the intersection of Main St. and Santa Ana Blvd. when another vehicle ran a red light and collided with the victim. The driver fled the scene without rendering aid, and the victim was transported to a hospital with significant injuries. The next day, detectives in the Collision Investigation Unit developed leads on the suspect’s whereabouts. The suspect, Michael West (29), of Anaheim, was located and booked for felony hit-and-run.

Today, our Quality of Life Team, Directed Patrol, and Code Enforcement served a search warrant at A&S Glass and Gift Shop after multiple complaints from the community. During the operation, the business owner was arrested for having illegal gambling machines, officers seized a large amount of nitrous oxide, and Code Enforcement issued several fines for violations. City Net was also on scene and helped connect one individual to shelter services. On April 30, 2026, the suspects removed the historic plaques that the City of Santa Ana presented to the EBell Club located at 718 N. Mortimer Street. They then rode off on bikes and fled the area. UPDATE #SantaAnaPD #PressRelease - Arrests Made in Homicide Investigation (May 8, 2025) Santa Ana Police have arrested two Santa Ana High School students for stabbing three, resulting in one fatality. On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at approximately 3:25 p.m., Santa Ana Police Communications received a call from Santa Ana School Police regarding a stabbing that occurred during a fight in front of Santa Ana High School. Santa Ana Police officers, along with Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA), responded to the scene and located three male students, ages 14, 15, and 16, suffering from stab wounds. OCFA transported the victims to a local hospital, where the 14-year-old succumbed to his injuries. The other two victims were listed in stable condition. Throughout the night, Santa Ana Police officers and Homicide Detectives continued their investigation and identified two suspects. Ultimately, the suspects, male students ages 15 and 17, turned themselves in at the Santa Ana Police Department. Based on the ongoing investigation, both were arrested and subsequently transported to Juvenile Hall, where they were booked for Penal Code § 187(a) – Murder and PC 664/187(a) – Attempted Murder. Homicide Detectives are working to identify and locate additional witnesses who may have information about this incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact SAPD Homicide Section Detectives at (714) 245-8390 or Orange County Crime Stoppers at 1-855-TIP-OCCS. This case is eligible for the Gang Reward Program.
