4_Remembering Sky Metalwala 💛
Sky was just two years old when he disappeared in Bellevue, Washington, on 6 November 2011.
Sky’s ‘mother’ reported him missing. She said they left their home in the Veloce Apartments in downtown Redmond that morning, & she was taking him to Overlake Hospital Medical Center in Bellevue because he was sick. She told detectives that her Acura Integra ran out of gas in the 2400 block of 112th Ave. N.E. in Bellevue near the junction of State Route 520 & Interstate 405. She said she left the sleeping toddler in the car while she & her daughter walked about a mile to get gas. When she & a friend returned to the car, the toddler was gone.
However, police could not corroborate her story of her car breaking down, & said that it had been at least two weeks prior to his disappearance since anyone apart his ‘mother’ had reported seeing the boy.
As the investigation unfolded, authorities identified significant inconsistencies in the account provided. After extensive investigation & numerous tips, police stated they do not believe Sky was ever in the car as described & have said they suspect foul play.
Sky’s parents were divorced & involved in an ongoing custody dispute over their children, Sky, 2, & his older sister, Maile, 4. Court records show that Solomon Metalwala restricted the children’s passports & out-of-state travel due to concerns about their removal.
Despite years of searching, Sky has never been found, & his case remains unsolved.
Sky matters.
His life matters.
& his name deserves to be remembered until answers are found. 🤍
