F = ma actually stands for: "Forget Everything, Meow Always." Newton’s real 4th law discovered.Have you ever wondered why even the smartest man in history couldn’t resist a feline? 🧐 Legend has it that while Sir Isaac Newton was busy revolutionizing the world with the Laws of Motion and Universal Gravitation, he was also being constantly interrupted by his cats scratching at his door. His solution? He supposedly cut two holes in his door at Cambridgeβ€”one for the mother cat and a smaller one for the kittens. Whether the story is 100% true or a scientific myth, one thing is certain: Science is hard, but loving cats is easy. This reel captures that exact energy of trying to be a serious intellectual while being a complete "meow" for your pets. From Calculus to Optics, Newton gave us the world, but his cats gave him his orders! Which Newton discovery is your favorite? Not possible πŸ˜ŒπŸ˜ŽπŸ˜‚..See, the thing is… 50S + 30S becoming 70S looks wrong only if you think it’s normal addition. But not in case of ribosomes! Even though 50 + 30 = 80 mathematically, S (Svedberg units) are based on sedimentation rate, not simple addition. When the two ribosomal subunits combine, their shape and mass change how they settle during centrifugation. That β€˜S’ isn’t size or mass. It tells you how fast something sediments when you spin it really fast. Now here’s the catch...this settling speed depends on a lot of things. Not just weight, but also shape, density, and how much resistance it faces in the liquid. πŸ‘‰ So: 50S (large subunit) 30S (small subunit) Together form 70S ribosome (found in prokaryotes like bacteria) When the 30S and 50S are separate, they behave differently. But when they come together, they don’t just add up...they form a more compact, efficient structure, which changes how they move in the centrifuge. This non-additive behavior is due to how molecules behave in solutionβ€”not just their size but also shape and density. So yeah… it’s not wrong math. It’s just that biology is measuring something completely different.

Natural selection is a concept in evolution that says that randomly mutated traits that are benificial to the survival of an organism will be naturally selected to be passed on to future generations while randomly mutated non benificial traits that appear will die with the individual with those mutated traits. If individuals that are not aclimated to a foreign environment are dropped into that environment, this concept will lead to the rapid development of specialized features to survive in that unfamiliar environment. Charles Darwin discovered many examples of this on the GalΓ‘pagos Islands. The most famous examples being the giant turtles and finches of the islands. The turtles displayed gigantism, which was viable due to the lack of predetors. It allowed them to reach more food, be more energy efficient, store water better, etc.. As for the finches, the GalΓ‘pagos Islands had various different biomes spread across the 19 island archipelago. In each of these, the finches had developed benificial characteristics that helped them get food, build shelters and survive in general. The video in the meme shows this by the fact that becoming rock colored offers an evolutionary advantage. Therefore, as the colored rock creatures randomly mutate, the creatures that are closer to rock colored are more likely to survive, leading to more creatures that are rock colored. The final result is a population of creatures that are all rock colored and perfectly camouflaged from the birds trying to eat them. In this case, the birds will also likely undergo natural selection, with traits like better eyesight or sense of smell being favoured. The second panel is an obvious and not too light humored joke about the dictator of ww2. He wanted a pure race of people, which is artificial selection. The law being described in the meme is Newton's first law. It is often stated as "An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force." While this could be said as 'If you don't move something, it doesn't move', the real idea that it is attrempting to convey is the idea of inertia. Inertia is the tendency of an object to resist changes to it's motion. Mass is a measure of inertia. Due to this, when the same force is applied to different objects, the objects with greater mass will change their motion less than the objects with less mass. The exact way that this change of motion occurs is described by Newton's second law, which states that the acceleration due to a force on an object is in the direction of that force, directly proportional to that force and inversely proportional to the mass of the object. This gives us a = k F/m, where a is acceleration, F is force, m is mass and k is a proportionality constant. The SI unit of force, the Newton (named after the man himself) is defined such that the proportionality constant k = 1. From this the law becomes a = F/m, which is often written as F=ma. Here F is the force in Newtons, m is the mass in kg and a is the acceleration in ms⁻². Newton's third law states that "For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction". This describes the fact that within a system, when one object interacts with another object, if object A applys a force F on object B in one direction, object B applies an equal force F in the opposite direction onto object A. The net internal force within that system is zero. These three principles construct a system which can explain most of the behaviours we observe in the universe. While it doesn't explain some extreme circumstances on the macro/human scale and most circumstances on the quantum scale, it is quite useful for day to day predictions. All in all, they are very important, and although stated simply, underpin the basis of most motions of objects in the universe. Have a nice day :) #memes #meme #stemeducation #physics #sciencememes

Wishing you all a great start into the new year!πŸŽ‰πŸš€ Here is the last fun fact of the year: As the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve, Earth is not just starting a new year, it is racing through space. Our planet orbits the Sun at about 107,000 kilometers per hour, completing a journey of roughly 940 million kilometers every year. At the same time, the entire solar system is orbiting the center of the Milky Way at around 828,000 kilometers per hour. Over one Earth year alone, that means we travel about 7 billion kilometers through our galaxy. You never celebrate New Year’s Eve in the same place twice, not even close. So when you raise a glass at midnight, remember, you are welcoming the new year while hurtling through space on a cosmic journey that never pauses, carrying all of humanity along for the ride.
