Real talk 🗣️ You’ve just finished your show... and it didn’t go how you planned. So what now? Blame the diet? Missed cardio? Your coach? Yourself? Truth is - bodybuilding doesn’t always reward effort how you might expect. You can do everything right, give 110%... and still not get the placing you want in the day. That’s the sport. More often than not, someone is just further along in their own development than you. And that’s okay. This is about your personal progression - show to show, year to year. Most people aren’t stuck because they need more effort.�They’re stuck because they keep abandoning what actually builds muscle. New exercises. Constant variation. “Crazy” intensity. Hard workouts that feel impressive…still no real growth. Bodybuilding, and honestly, building any serious physique, isn’t about chasing what feels hardest. It’s about mastering what works long enough for it to actually work. The best physiques are built from boring things done brutally well: 1. Simple movements. 2. Stable execution. 3. Progression you can measure. 4. And enough recovery to do it again, better. That’s the difference. Muscle doesn’t care how “hardcore” your workout looked. It responds to tension, execution, and progression. If you can’t track it, repeat it, and progress it…don’t expect it to build a better physique. Because in the end, the people who grow the most usually aren’t doing the most. They’re doing what matters most. Stop lying for the clout, you did a 20-30 week prep it's ok that's what most of us do

How long should your prep be? Depending on the division, men are looking at getting to around 3-4% body fat and women 10-12% body fat. So work backwards from there. You want to aim for 0.5-1.5% loses per week with faster fat loss early on and slower fat loss as you get closer to stage. 5 factors to consider BEFORE prepping for your first natural bodybuilding show. 1. Have you ever successfully completed a fat loss phase before? You don’t want your first fat loss phase to be as extreme as prep. 2. Have you been training long enough to know that you can still train even when it’s extremely hard? Because deep in the prep, you’re gonna feel like doing nothing. Have you trained long enough to know that even when the love for training fades, you can still force yourself to do it? 3. Who else has a say in this? If you have a partner or family member that would be affected by this kind of commitment, do you have their blessing to commit to this? It’s often just as hard for the people around you as it is for you when you compete. 4. Your timeline. How far from stage weight are you really? Most people have a lot more fat to lose than they think they do. Is there enough time for you to actually get lean enough to get to the stage this year? And this is something that a trained professional with experience can give you insight on. 5. Why do you want to compete? Competing to try and fix your life isn’t a good reason. Your life will still be there after the prep and the show. You need to love the game, the game of testing your limits, to actually compete against others and push yourself.
