TALast night I shared that I’m having a really tough time and my inbox was flooded with so many of you feeling the same way. I guess selfishly it feels comforting to know I’m not alone with these feelings and you all validated them so much.
Being a single mum is the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced and I have to admit I know I’ll never be fully content doing this alone. This doesn’t mean I don’t love my children unconditionally, it doesn’t mean I’m not grateful every minute of the day that I have them… it simply means I never wanted or thought I would do this without the support of their dad.
I’m not ashamed nor should I feel like I can’t be honest with these feelings. Trying to split myself 3 ways whilst continuing to try and regulate my emotions is a challenge I face daily.
My children all have different needs and I’m trying so hard to meet them but feel like at times I’m failing at this. Not having that person at the other end of the phone, or that person you get into bed with at night to vent, offload and unwind to is so hard.
I hope that if you are feeling all these things, this post gives you that comfort that you’re not completely alone. I hope you know that if you are sitting there worrying, just like me, that in itself shows you’re an amazing parent.
