I’m standing on me now. No matter how shaky it feels. Because truth is—it’s hard. There are days you’re going to feel like giving up. Days you will break. Days you will cry until you don’t recognize your own strength anymore. But hear me… you are going to make it. Even when your voice trembles, you gotta believe it anyway. I had to learn that the hard way. Even when life feels unbearable, I remind myself: I am still who I need to be. Not who I used to be. Not who they expected me to be. But exactly who I am meant to be in this moment. I walked through storms that should’ve taken me out… storms that tried to silence me, break me, reshape me. And yet—I’m still here. I’m still breathing. I’m still standing. ALIVE. And that alone is a reason to celebrate. We’re not promised forever. We’re here for a good time, not a long time. So every single day I open my eyes, I choose to find something—anything—that feels like joy. Even if it’s small. Even if it’s quiet. Because without God… I know I wouldn’t have made it this far. There were moments I couldn’t carry myself—but I was still carried. So today, I celebrate my YOU’niqueness. Every scar. Every lesson. Every piece of growth that came from pain. I celebrate the person I fought to become. I honor my journey—the self-discovery, the setbacks, the healing, the rising. I am grateful… for every lesson that shaped me and every version of me that survived long enough to grow. 🌱 And I need you to do the same. Celebrate your small wins. The Friendliest Golden 😍 #SonyAd By this point you know that I LOVE photographing people & pets. So when @Sony reached out to see if we could partner up to surprise someone with cute portraits of their pup… I obviously said yes. 😊 Since this is a collab, I wanted to take this interaction to the next level - so I waited until the weather forecast called for fog, so I could capture some moody/cinematic dog portraits.  That’s when I met Danielle (@ddiemert), Shannon (@shannonhomme) and Briar.  Briar is a seven year old Golden Retriever with a vibrant personality. ✨ She’s super friendly and speaks in funny growls. 😂 Briar was also the perfect model, as her bright golden coat contrasted perfectly with the grey fog. 👌 — 📸 CAMERA GEAR I used two camera setups for these portraits: • Sony A7CII + Sony 24mm f/1.4 GM • Sony A7IV + Sony 85mm f/1.8  The 24mm lens allows me to get closer to my subject and show a bit more of the foggy surroundings, while still getting decent background separation with the f/1.4 aperture.  And the 85mm f/1.8 allows me to get headshot style photos where the background is completely out of focus. This effect is even more dramatic with the fog. Overall I love how these photos turned out, and using the two different focal lengths gives these portraits a completely different aesthetic.  Which focal length do you prefer? 24mm or 85mm?    — 📍 Fort Langley, BC — #sonyalpha #dogportraits #dogphotography #streetportraits
