PA✂️ Here’s my top tips for visiting @thestitchfestival next week (save for the night before!)
👜 Bring tote bags. Multiple. You will buy things. Accept it now. A couple of roomy totes will save you juggling patterns and fabric and notions, etc all the way round the hall.
💧Pack a water bottle.
Exhibition halls get warm and busy, and there’s free water stations around. Stay hydrated —your bank balance will also thank you. Ditto on snacks and packed lunch!
👟 Wear your comfiest shoes. Not the cute ones. The ones your feet already love. You will be walking all day and you will not regret this advice.
🪡 REMEMBER You don’t have to wear something handmade. The pressure is real, I know. But come as you are — no one is judging your outfit. We’re all just here for the sewing.
📋 Make a list and have a loose plan.
The show is huge. Check the show guide, mark your must-see stands, note any talks or shows you want to catch — then leave room for happy accidents.
👗 Watch a fashion show — especially the Prima one.
Did I tell you I make the sewing patterns for Prima? @primamag and I absolutely love to see what reader have made from them! More on that very soon...
💬 And lastly, come and say hello — no one is scary, I promise! The crafting community is one of the warmest places on earth. Stop and chat with exhibitors, designers, fellow visitors. Everyone is happy to talk. Especially me — come find me at Stand H38! Can’t wait to meet you!

THI’m @thestitchfestival READY!
I love the lull before the story - otherwise known as the day before doors open, as it is the moment I see all my work come to life in the little corner of the Business Design Centre in Islington, and no matter how well I plan there are always a few last minute tweaks! But now the set up is done (it took 4 hours not 28 seconds 😅) and all that’s left is for the doors to open tomorrow morning and the fun begin!

WOEvery day of @thestitchfestival, we're going to feature one designer a day. Today's designer is @dallasdesignsuk (J55) 😍.
Our very own Becky is going to start us off but you can join in too and collectively we'll stitch our way through the design.
This gives you a chance to have a go on our Lowery Workstand and see for yourself how comfortable it is to use one. It also shines a spotlight on the wonderful designers who make the world a brighter and calmer place, one stitch at a time 🥰.

GRStitch Festival delivered as usual. Lots of lovely fabrics and projects available, I had to be so good and I only spent on essentials such as needles and some haberdashery. And some Japanese cotton and a piece of lime colour linen that I've been trying to match for the last 4 months. And a book. On Textile Fine Art. Because FINALLY the world has started seeing textile art on the same level as other arts such as painting and sculpture. Textiles are just another medium in which artists can express themselves, and they take just as much thought and work and practice as any other art.
