"#ecocide requires urgent international attention…" - Swedish Prime Minister Olof Palme, Stockholm Conference, 1972. The first intergovernmental conference dedicated to the environment. The first time ecocide was spoken aloud by a political leader. Palme used the occasion of the Stockholm Conference to condemn the US's "indiscriminate bombing" and widespread use of the herbicide Agent Orange in Vietnam, calling it "an outrage" and urging action on what he described as ecocide. His speech reflected a growing global recognition of the term, first recorded just two years earlier by scientist Arthur Galston in reference to Agent Orange. This period also saw the beginning of UN discussions on criminalising ecocide, a process that stalled in the 1990s, until it was revived by the late pioneering barrister Polly Higgins. Today, the movement for #ecocidelaw has made rapid progress and reached all corners of the globe. At the @internationalcriminalcourt, there is now a formal proposal to make ecocide the fifth international crime and the Office of the Prosecutor recently announced that it would place environmental damage at the heart of its investigations. Meanwhile, Belgium and France have criminalised ecocide and legislative proposals are progressing in over a dozen domestic jurisdictions around the world. There has also been concrete legislative progress in Europe with with a revised #EU Environmental Crime Directive and a Council of Europe treaty criminalising cases akin to ecocide. Plus, the conversation is growing rapidly in various African fora under the leadership of the #DRC. NEPA 1969: The spark that ignited global environmental justice. 🌍⚖️" Did you know where modern environmental law began? 📜 In 1969, the USA took a historic step by passing NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act), effective from 1970. This law introduced the groundbreaking concept of EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment), making it mandatory to evaluate environmental damage before starting any major project. The Global Shift: 📍 1972: The Stockholm Conference took this mission worldwide. 🌿 UNEP: This led to the formation of the United Nations Environment Programme. Today, the message is clear: War and destruction know no borders. Military actions and conflict don't just destroy nations—they destroy our shared climate, soil, and future. Peace isn't just a political choice; it’s an environmental necessity. Let’s choose Responsibility over Power and Nature over Destruction. ✋🌱 #EnvironmentLaw #NEPA #Sustainability #EcoJustice #SaveThePlanet #StopWar #GlobalResponsibility

In 1968 Paul Ehrlich predicted hundreds of millions would starve because the planet was overpopulated. What actually happened? The Green Revolution. Today we produce more food, on less land, for more people. It’s a great reminder: the doomers are usually wrong, and the optimist and economics are right.

Deforestation is the loss of forest area to other land uses, or the significant reduction of forest cover. It differs from forest degradation, which refers to the alteration of forest qualities, such as biodiversity or ecosystem services. Agricultural expansion in tropical areas is the primary cause of deforestation. More than half of global deforestation is directly linked to the conversion of forests into farmland or pasture. In Southeast Asia, oil palm and now rubber plantations are gaining ground every day, at the expense of forests. In the Amazon, 11,088 km² of Brazilian rainforest disappeared in 2019, the equivalent of 1,552,941 football fields. Brazil, after successfully controlling and slowing deforestation until 2012, is experiencing a resurgence in the conversion of its forest cover, particularly for soybean cultivation and livestock farming, following recent political changes. In the Congo Basin, the rate of deforestation remains relatively low. However, the increasing demand for firewood and the expansion of subsistence farming and logging are generating increasingly alarming forest degradation in the region.

The Dominican Republic doesn’t have a trash problem. It has 3.5 million tons of wasted opportunity. The government is reviewing the Solid Waste Law right now. Here’s exactly what needs to change: 1. Repeal the clause blocking large generators from separating their waste. Let hotels, supermarkets, and hospitals send each stream directly to authorized specialists. 2. Don’t just allow large organic waste producers to divert from landfills — require it. Real incentives. Real penalties. That mandate attracts private investment. 3. Direct the DO Sostenible trust to explicitly fund composting infrastructure. The model already works in Villa Fundación. Make it the rule, not the exception. 4. Tie municipal funding to measurable progress on source separation. Conditional funding produces results. Voluntary guidance doesn’t. I’ve spent two decades turning environmental challenges into business opportunities in this country. This is the most obvious one I’ve ever seen. Full breakdown in the bio. Vamos arriba. 🇩🇴 #zerowaste #sustainability #compost #dominicanrepublic #recycle

They told you 2030 was just another year. They told you the plans were about sustainability. They told you to trust the process. But what if the process isn’t about saving the planet—it’s about taking everything you have? Here’s what the global planners don’t want you to see: ✅ They want your land. Not through war—through policy. Through regulations that make small farms illegal. Through agendas that redefine ownership until the only hands left on the land belong to corporations. ✅ They want your food. Not just controlling it—owning it. From lab-grown substitutes to patented seeds, they’re building a world where you don’t grow food—you license it. And if you can’t pay, you don’t eat. ✅ They want your children sick. Not by accident—by design. Toxic food. Injected mandates. Smart meters. Smart cities. A population too sick to fight, too dependent to question, too sick to reproduce. And by 2030? The blueprint is complete. The lesson is clear: When they tell you “you’ll own nothing and be happy,” believe them. And when they show you the timeline, don’t assume it’s a warning—assume it’s a confession. 💬 Comment “2030 AGENDA” if you see what’s coming. ❤️ Like if you refuse to hand over your land, your food, or your children. ↗️ Share this. R-CALF is sounding the alarm. Now it’s our turn. #2030Agenda #GreatReset #TheyWantYourLand #FoodSovereignty
