If you’re thinking about studying in Korea, read this first 🇰🇷 I’m currently studying in Seoul at Korea University, and these are some things most guides don’t tell you: 1. Your visa limits how much you can work. International students usually need permission from their university and immigration before starting part-time jobs. Many students arrive thinking they can work immediately , Trust me , it’s not that simple. 2. Housing goes fast before each semester. Dorms fill up quickly and off-campus options near universities get taken weeks in advance. Start looking early or you’ll end up far from campus. 3. Group work is a big part of Korean universities. Many classes include team projects, presentations, and participation. Being active in class actually helps your grades and networking. 4. Administrative things can take longer if you don’t speak Korean. Bank accounts, phone plans, hospital visits, even deliveries can be confusing at first. I suggest learning atleast basic conversational Korean before coming to Korea or Having a Korean-speaking friend helps a lot in the beginning. 5. Student festivals and networking events matter more than you think. Some of the best connections happen outside class !campus events, clubs, and school festivals. 6. Winters are colder than many international students expect. Invest in a proper coat when you arrive. 7. The first month feels overwhelming for almost everyone. New systems, new language, new culture. but it gets much easier once you build routines. 8. Your experience depends on how proactive you are. Explore, talk to people, attend events, and step outside your comfort zone. 10. Living in Seoul is more expensive than many students expect. Rent, cafés, and eating out add up quickly, so budget realistically. Living here has been one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences for me so far. If you’re planning to study in Korea, ask me anything below ! I’ll try to help. Save this for later if Korea is on your list 🇰🇷#indianinkorea #internationalstudent #studyinkorea #fyp #reels

Korea isn’t what you think… 🇰🇷🤯 Everyone imagines K-dramas, cute cafés, and perfect city life. But living here? It’s a whole different experience. 1️⃣ Google Maps barely works here… you’ll survive on Naver Map or KakaoMap. 2️⃣ Taxi & bus drivers drive like it’s Fast & Furious — seatbelts are your best friend. 🏎️ 3️⃣ No KakaoTalk? You basically don’t exist socially. Everything happens there. 4️⃣ You carry almost 0 cash- except if ypur new with out a debit card🤭 5️⃣ Convenience stores are basically mini restaurants. 6️⃣ The “reserved seats” on public transport? Even empty ones can feel untouchable. 7️⃣ Couple culture is everywhere — matching outfits, phone cases, even shoes. 👟 8️⃣ Beauty standards are intense — skincare and aesthetics are part of daily life. Korea is amazing… but it’s definitely not exactly like the dramas. 😉 #LifeInKorea #StudyInKorea #KoreaReality #reels #InternationalStudent

Honourable mentions (VERY important): • Subway Korea → Most accurate subway routes, transfers & timings • Kakao T → Taxis without explaining directions → Works great when it’s raining or late • Korail / SRT → Book KTX & bullet trains → Essential for travelling between cities • HiKorea → Immigration portal → Visa extensions, appointments, updates (don’t ignore this app 👀) • NOL / Interpark → Concerts 🎤, festivals 🎫 → Bus & train tickets 🚌🚆 → Cultural events & travel bookings 💡 Pro tip: Install these BEFORE coming to Korea. Korean apps work way better than global ones. #korea #fyp #explore #studyinkorea

1. You can’t walk for 5 minutes without seeing a cozy cafe or cool restaurant that you just have to visit. It doesn’t hit the same anywhere else 2. “Just an errand” in Seoul turns into a girls day with 12,000 steps, new shopping bags, and a few matchas. It’s the perfect day 3. The convenience stores are TOO convenient. Which means it takes all your control to avoid going at 2am for dinner 4. Prices are so reasonable that it’s too easy to just chip and spend all your money :/ 5. You’ll love it here so much that the years might go by before you realize it’s been half a decade and you can’t imagine yourself anywhere else Well, would you move? #studyinkorea #movingtokorea #comfortcreator #southkorea #livinginkorea

I moved to South Korea at 17 after getting rejected by GKS, and I won’t lie it hurt a lot. I felt like my biggest dream ended in one email( btw not even a mail i got rejected in first round). But life doesn’t stop at one rejection, and neither should you. If you’re someone chasing scholarships or studying abroad, here’s what I learned the hard way: 1️⃣ One rejection doesn’t define your intelligence or your future scholarship results are limited, your potential is not. 2️⃣ There are MANY other scholarships besides GKS look into university scholarships, foundation programs, country-based grants, and partial tuition waivers. Opportunities exist if you search deeper. 3️⃣ You don’t have to wait for a “perfect chance” some people come through language programs, self-funded semesters, or transfer later. Different path, same destination. 4️⃣ Improve your profile instead of blaming yourself build activities, volunteering, language skills, and confidence. Growth always pays off. 5️⃣ Ask people who already made it real advice from real students will help you more than overthinking alone. 6️⃣ Stop comparing timelines someone winning at 17 and you winning at 20 is still winning. Your story is not late. 7️⃣ Be brave enough to move forward even when you’re unsure courage matters more than perfect planning. Today I’m here not because everything went perfectly, but because I refused to let one rejection decide my life. If you got rejected from a scholarship, please don’t think it’s over. Your dream country, your education, your future they’re still possible. 🫶🏻🇰🇷🌟 Cheering you up^•^ #lifeinkorea #southkorea #gks2026 #studyinkorea #foryoupage
