The key players in this shift are hormones and liver function. Why It Happens: 👉🏼As progesterone and estrogen decline, cortisol rises, disrupting cholesterol metabolism. 👉🏼The liver, responsible for breaking down and processing cholesterol, often becomes sluggish, leading to imbalances.
