Un dibujo puede decir más que mil palabras.
Le Corbusier entendía que el acto de dibujar no es solo una forma de representar ideas, sino una manera de pensarlas con claridad. Cuando un arquitecto empieza a dibujar, el proyecto deja de ser ambiguo.
Las proporciones comienzan a aparecer,
los espacios se vuelven comprensibles,
y las relaciones entre los elementos empiezan a tomar sentido.
Las palabras pueden ser imprecisas, incluso confusas.
Pero un dibujo, tiene una capacidad única de expresar con precisión lo que un proyecto realmente quiere ser.
Y quizá ahí está una de las herramientas más poderosas del arquitecto.

ARThey called it a concrete nightmare.
Today, it’s considered an architectural icon.
In 1952, Le Corbusier completed Unité d’Habitation in Marseille, a radical response to the housing crisis after World War II.
But this wasn’t designed as just another apartment block.
Corbusier imagined it as a “vertical city.”
Inside one megastructure were 337 duplex apartments, internal “streets” every third floor, shops, hotel rooms, a kindergarten, and even a public rooftop terrace with a running track and sculptural ventilation towers.
The building followed Corbusier’s Modulor system, a proportional grid based on the human body, meant to standardize dimensions while keeping spaces comfortable and efficient.
The interlocking duplex layout created double-height living spaces and cross ventilation, even within a dense concrete slab.
And the material?
Raw béton brut, the exposed concrete that later inspired the entire Brutalist movement.
Once criticized as harsh and inhuman, this experiment eventually became one of the most influential housing projects in modern architecture, shaping mass housing ideas around the world.
So here’s the real question:
Would you actually want to live inside this concrete city?
