Testing season is here so I am sharing a few things that we are doing this week in our classroom to both motivate kids and make testing a little more fun! This is my third year doing this and it is truly one of my favorite things! • Prior to testing, I email my students’ parents and ask them to email me pictures of their child’s pet(s)! If they don’t have any pets at home I encourage pictures of their stuffed animals! You will see a few on our board and they are some of my favorites:) I then use these pictures to create a motivational mural as you see above. This truly helps calm my students’ nerves and brings a little piece of home inside the classroom for testing. • In that same email, I send out a sign up genius or request for any parents who feel gracious enough to donate some healthy snacks for our classroom. I love to provide snacks each day that we test to help fuel my students for the day! It’s an extra little motivator and helps those kids who didn’t get breakfast that morning! We call it the testing fuel station🌟 • I love having motivational coloring pages for my students when they finish their testing. These were a big hit in my classroom last year! I have a pack of four various pages on my TPT! I hope some of these ideas help and let me know if you try any of them out!
