A pod of Orcas—the wolves of the sea—had surrounded the lone floe. The lead Orca lunged, its massive body slamming against the ice to tip the cub into the freezing depths. The cub slipped, sliding toward the snapping jaws. The Intervention "Not on my watch!" Yamato shouted. With a burst of speed, he leaped across the chasm. As an Orca breached the surface to grab the cub, Yamato swung his massive club, Takeru, hitting the surface of the water with enough force to create a massive shockwave. The spray of water froze instantly in the air, creating a temporary wall of jagged ice between the cub and the predators. The Orcas, confused by the sudden resistance, circled back for a synchronized strike. They dove deep to create a wave meant to wash the cub away. The Final Stand Yamato scooped the shivering cub onto his shoulder and gripped the edge of a stable glacier. "Hold on tight, little one!" As the massive wave approached, Yamato unleashed his breath: "Namuji Hyoga!" (No-Man-Land Ice Blade). A blast of intense freezing energy shot from his mouth, instantly solidifying the oncoming wave and the surrounding water into a solid bridge of ice. Trapped by the sudden freeze and unable to break through the reinforced barrier, the Orcas realized the hunt was over. They clicked and whistled in frustration before retreating into the deep, dark blue of the open ocean. Aftermath Yamato carried the cub inland to a safe snowy ridge. Soon, a low grunt echoed through the valley—the mother bear was searching for her young. The cub let out a happy yip and ran toward her.
