Most “toddler shoes” are actually too stiff for babies who are just learning to walk 👣 First walkers need shoes that are soft, flexible, and foot-shaped so their toes can spread, feel the ground, and build balance. Toddler shoes are for kids who are already walking confidently and need more durability for running, climbing, and playgrounds. Wearing the wrong shoe at the wrong stage can make walking harder than it needs to be, which is why this matters more than most parents realize. Does your kiddo pinch you too? 🤍 If your child frequently pinches your skin, they’re often seeking deep sensory input to self-regulate and feel connected—not trying to be mean. When my daughter was around 3.5, pinching became her way of calming herself, especially during bedtime. It was overwhelming until I understood the reason behind the behavior. Redirecting her sensory needs with stress balls and soft, squishy textures made a huge difference. Once their sensory input is met and alternatives are provided, the unwanted behavior slowly fades away. What a thrill and honor to judge the first annual pastry bake off for @ellisearlylearning. 👶🤰🏻🧒👧🏽True story- Happened to be walking by Ellis on my way to Flour Clarendon when I ran into the executive director Lauren. I told her when I retire from Flour/M+C my dream is to hold babies and she invited me in. I held so many sweet babies and saw the amazing work they do focusing on baby and toddler development for all kids. We dreamt up this pastry competition as a fun way to raise awareness and funds to support their mission. 🏆 Congratulations to all of the super talented bakers who participated and Jaye for winning with her raspberry and blueberry lime scones!! #earlylearning #earlyeducation #bakingcompetition #sofun #inspiring #dreamjob
