They supported my professional growth, encouraged me to take on big goals, and kept me motivated when I needed it most. 2️⃣ Stayed consistent 📅 – Consistency was key. Small, steady steps every day helped me reach my goals, even when balancing multiple responsibilities. 3️⃣ Explored widely but focused deeply 🔍 – I tried new things but always aimed to do my best in what I enjoyed most. That balance let me grow and find my genuine interests that showed in my application and interviews. 4️⃣ Looked beyond setbacks 💪 – Not every opportunity came my way, and sometimes rejection stung. But I learned that rejection is redirection—it often led me to work on even bigger projects than I’d initially imagined. 5️⃣ Started with my “why” early on 💡 – I thought deeply about why I wanted to pursue dentistry and how to showcase it. Just off embargo from the Scientific Sessions of the @american_heart: the DECAF trial: more good news about (REGULAR) coffee and the heart ☕️❤️ Research done at UCSF, by Dr. Gregory Marcus et al, found a decreased risk of A fib in coffee drinkers vs those who abstained. While coffee can raise heart rate, BP, cause insomnia etc when consumed in high doses or by people who are sensitive to caffeine, the bulk of medical evidence shows that it does NOT cause cardiac arrhythmias. This study (a prospective, randomized trial with 6 months of follow up in a high risk population) was just one of the latest and best pieces of data that not only does not show an increased risk, it suggests a protective effect… #coffee #DECAF #heart
