LImy reaction to checking my STEP 1 score was a release of so many emotions from this past season of life— from the unprocessed grief of my grandpa’s suddenly rapidly declining health with no means of visiting him in China, to the debilitating pains of my stress-induced IBS flare ups, to the uncertainties of local neighborhoods burning in the fires, to the overwhelming gratitude for the many loving people God had placed in my life during this lonely time, to the ultimate relief of knowing that this season has finally ended—these tears alone can’t fully capture the every emotion experienced during these past few months.
Somehow even when it felt like every aspect of my life was falling apart, God found a way to remind me every day that He would never leave nor forsake me.
I recall writing down Jeremiah 29:11 and Isaiah 26:3 on every exam scratch paper I used— reminders for myself that this journey was never done alone, that God already had a perfect plan meant to give me hope and a future, and that God alone is my peace and comfort in the midst of any worldly chaos. And in every prayer shared with my parents, friends, church mentors, and even strangers I met while studying at coffee shops, my consistent prayer was that God guided me in a way where I could glorify Him through this season. These people were my village, the village I couldn’t have done this without.
I know this post is rather personal and touches on more of my spiritual side, but I hope it gives a more transparent perspective of me, who I am, and my life purpose. :) and it also serves as a reminder to my future self when life gets inevitably difficult, that if God so faithfully carried me through this season, surely He will do the same for the seasons to come :)
And to all of yall, you are a part of my village—thank you ❤️❤️❤️
