It was a joy to share the space with incredible talents - from the powerful weaving masterclass of Liana Listunova @lianalistunova , to the extraordinary Iryna Rodionova @novacapellarodionova and her ensemble of young musicians, whose music carried emotion, memory, and hope. 🎻🌟
A highlight of the day was welcoming Igor Zadvorny, who introduced his wonderful children’s books celebrating ecology and the love of nature. 📖🌿 These stories gently invite young readers to care for the world around them and see beauty in every leaf, stone, and living thing.
A truly special moment came when the children’s group Mriya gave a premiere performance of “Lullaby for the Animals”, a gentle song based on The Adventures of Krapelka Blue and Her Friend Pearl, with lyrics by Igor and music by composer #HelenNemesh. 🎵🧸
We were also thrilled to host a live Zoom conversation with the book’s illustrator @nataliia aleksenko, giving both children and adults insight into how the vibrant visuals came to life — a rare and inspiring behind-the-scenes moment! 🎨💬
Children attending the event also had a chance to explore the powerful ZEMLIA exhibit, featuring works by contemporary Ukrainian artists. Through sculpture, tapestry, and painting, they encountered fresh perspectives on the meaning of “land” - its beauty, struggle, and spirit. 🌾🖼️
A huge thank you to XYZ Gallery @yourxyzworld for hosting us. Your support helped create an atmosphere where art, learning, and community truly came together.
💛 All funds raised from the event will support First Aid training sessions for pupils at a school in Boryspil, Kyiv region - giving children essential, life-saving knowledge.
And the handcrafted bookmarks woven by the event participants will now accompany Igor’s books as gifts – as a memento of kindness, creativity and connection.
