It is the time when you are going to be accepting your admits and also start applying for housing and visa, here are a few of my recommendations:
- universities like ASU, UTD, Boston State university etc are not worth your money if you don’t get a scholarship for it.
- similar to this in the UK, universities like: Coventry, Sheffield are not worth your money in the long run if you don’t get scholarships. Stop letting your “advisors” push universities on you
Drop a follow for more insights into universities.
- Non-STEM designated programs in the US, as they only offer 12 months of OPT compared to 36 months for STEM programs, giving you less time to gain work experience and secure sponsorship
- Institutions with overly high acceptance rates (above 65%), often indicating oversized class sizes of 500+ students, there is no learning happening at such universities and you will end up wasting your money.
- Institutions with poor rankings and low graduate employment rates, alumni network is super important when it comes to getting jobs and some companies do look at rankings.
- International universities offering MBA programs with no work experience requirement, if the barrier to entry is so low, the course would also be very mid
- Don’t blindly look at rankings, rankings can be for a particular course, look at the professors and research work, and potential to network among people
