Normalise living below your means⬆️ If you see someone who looks rich, 9 times out of 10 they’re not. The richest people I know, you wouldn’t be able to tell by the cars they drive or the clothes they wear. Don’t let someone’s visual lifestyle make you think you need that too. It’s so easy to convince yourself, if I could just bring in more money/earn a higher salary, then I’ll be ok. Then I’ll start saving, paying off debt, be able to buy the things I want without the financial worry. But the truth is, so many of us are guilty of spending more/ living out with our means, the more we earn. And those “little things” really do add up! 🫠 I finally had enough and started tracking my spending. Breaking it down into fixed costs and wants, so I could see where my money was going and what money I could free up for: 👉🏻 saving, investing, building an emergency fund and paying off debt 💸 Once I did that, things became so much clearer. If you’d like to start keeping a budget, comment “budget” and I’ll send you a DM. P.S I’m not affiliated with them, it’s just a really simple budget I use that’s really helped me 👌 🫶🏻 #livingwithinyourmeans #budgetingtips #savemoney #intentionalspending #livingwithintention

Three years ago I was spending my entire pay- cheque the day it landed. Every single time. Now? My savings move automatically before I even see the money. Nothing dramatic happened. I didn't win the lottery or get some massive pay rise. I didn't suddenly become this super disciplined person who had it all together. I just built structure. Simple systems that run quietly in the background while I live my life. And that structure? It gave me something I'd been missing for years. Breathing room. The ability to not panic when something comes up. The feeling of actually being okay instead of constantly catching up. So if you're exhausted from trying harder every pay day... If you're tired of promising yourself it'll be different this time... Send me YES and I'll show you exactly what I changed. #singlemumlife #singlemumjourney #singlemumsupport #singlemumstrong #singlemumgoals #mumlifeaustralia #workingmumlife #financialfreedomjourney #wealthbuildingwomen #moneyformums #savemoneytips #budgetingtips #housegoals #propertyjourney #buildingwealth

Way’s we save money (not get rich quick, but slow and steady wins the race) as a family of 4 living in an expensive state 💰 There are a lot of expenses we are not really in control of: -the housing market -childcare costs -electricity delivery fees -when its a crazy cold winter! But instead we focus on what we CAN control - which honestly just means keeping our life simple. What are some ways you’re saving money lately?! We budget for everything from socks to snacks & leave out the one resource that actually increases our income. We’ve had it ground into us for so long that Investing is complicated or risky, 80% of the population actually believe it & miss out! While we call the other 20% of the population ‘lucky’ But the truth is, there are super simple options that don’t need ‘big’ money or long term turn around & families need to know it! We took our savings & moved it to an investment account that earnt 1% daily instead of yearly (do that math). A steady system pays us an additional $250 every single week & makes budgeting so much less stressful! We didn’t need big money, tech skills or time! The professionals handle it all. One simple setup runs on auto for us & now our money works far harder than we ever could. comment STEP for the easiest move we’ve ever made Disclaimer* this is NOT financial advice. Next round of my "little accountability for our spending habits - because it's time to be more aware of our spending again" series. For some context: we're a mostly single income, homeschooling family of 5. I do make and sell things sometimes throughout the year, but not at all on a regular basis. We live in South Dakota where things used to be really cheap, but since the state has grown so much in the last few years, it's not as cheap anymore 😂 although I think that's everywhere now... We also live a fully debt free life - if we can't pay cash for it we don't buy it. We paid off our mortgage a few years ago and can't imagine going back to having debt now. Our home could us some upgrades and is on the smaller side compared to most homes around our area but we all love it so much and it makes our lifestyle possible without our main man having to work away from home much and makes it possible he gets to take every other Friday off to be with us. ... Another spendy week - couldn't imagine being more spend happy and not have savings for some of these weeks... • March piano lessons - covers both our big girls weekly lessons • Gap, BBB (Bed Bath & Beyond), thrift books, choose app = clothes, sheets & bed skirt, books, yoto cards • Grainger: my husband got somethings • Amazon: randoms A spendy one for sure but having property taxes covered for the year is done so that's always a good feeling 🥳🙌

A little harsh? Sorry, but too many people complain they are broke and they can’t afford to do the things they want to do. These are the same people I also see going out to eat on the weekends, buying new clothes all the time and not watching where their money is going. I used to be that way and it’s not a bad way to be. But don’t expect your finances to be pretty if you over indulge and don’t live within your means. If you are fine being in the cycle of struggling to pay your bills that is your prerogative, but what if you didn’t have to struggle financially? What if you looked over your finances and truly thought about what you want to spend your money on? What if you want to go on that trip out of the country? You need to spend less NOW so you CAN spend later! Living within a budget allows you to spend money on the things that truly matter. I’ve been on that struggle bus and I’m so glad I got off! I’m here to encourage you to live and love the life you make. Inspire you to be the best version of yourself. I’m learning and getting to know my truest version every day! LIKE. SAVE. We “cheap out” on these things to stay ahead financially. We’ve focused on being good with money, but we’ve definitely had some lifestyle creep the past few years too. We’re getting more intentional again. Here’s where we keep things cheap: 1. We ditched Amazon. One-click checkout is expensive. 2. We only keep one streaming service at a time. Streaming somehow became more expensive than cable. 3. We switched to a cheaper phone plan. That alone saves us over $1,000 a year. Comment PHONE and I’ll send what we use. 4. Coffee out is occasional. At $6+ a cup, making it at home saves us close to $2,000 a year. 5. We bought a home we could afford on one salary. Even at 5.95%. I’d rather be comfortable than stretched thin. 6. Eating out is rare & an event. We pack snacks and make most meals at home. 7. We don’t shop for fun. We plan purchases ahead instead. These aren’t extreme, but they’ve made a big difference for us financially. Where do you “cheap out” to get ahead? #financialtransparency #budgetingtips

Mindsets of thinking external factors are to blame, in part, keep us stuck! We don’t earn enough! Cost of living is so high! These things are true, but what is also true, is the fact that we make decisions daily that contribute to keeping us stuck! I didn’t NEED to buy an expensive car, I didn’t need 10 subscriptions, I didn’t need £180 food shops! When you can face your own spending and are truly ready, without excuses, to look at your own role in it, you will find room in your budget. You might even discover things you weren’t expecting! For me that was remembering what my mum/dad taught me as a kid -“nothing in life is free love, you want something, you work for it!” I also remembered that my situation wasn’t static, I could go back to work full time instead of 0.8. I could start a business, I could try my hand at some side hustles! And probably so much more! ❤️ #fyp#budgeting #livingwithinyourmeans #save #debt
