MIAbbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of Iran, stated in an interview with NBC news that he doesn't know why "the US administration insists to start a negotiation" and attack the other party in the middle of it.
He added that "perhaps, it was others who dragged the US" into the conflict, as joint US-Israeli air strikes on Iran killed dozens of Iranians on Saturday, including schoolgirls.
During the interview, Araghchi stated that the US and Iran had nearly reached an agreement regarding Iran's nuclear program on Thursday.
The foreign minister also added that he has been in touch with neighbouring countries following Iran's retaliation strikes on American bases in the region.
