TR4mtr Acrow props are adjustable steel supports used temporarily in building construction to carry vertical loads during concrete works. They are mainly used to support slabs, beams, and formwork while concrete is curing.
A 4-meter Acrow prop is a telescopic steel prop that can be adjusted to different heights (usually from about 2.2m up to 4.0m depending on type). It consists of:
Outer tube
Inner adjustable tube
Threaded collar for fine adjustment
Base plate
Head plate (U-head or flat head).
🔹 Primary Functions in Building Support
Slab Support (Decking Support)
Used to hold marine boards, H20 beams, or formwork in position when casting concrete slabs.
Beam Support
Supports beam formwork to prevent sagging or collapse during concrete pouring.
Temporary Structural Support
Provides temporary load-bearing capacity until concrete gains sufficient strength.
Shoring and Re-shoring
Used in multi-storey buildings to transfer loads safely to lower floors.

JOWeek 5-9 of my London garden flat extension.
I’ve been posting all of the updates on stories but been forgetting to do the weekly recap of the extension!
Since I posted my last video, I finished my job and was able to temporarily move back to stay with my family in Dorset to be out of the way for the bigger works. Whilst I could definitely have found a way to stay in the flat if I had needed to, timings worked out perfectly, and I appreciate it is beyond fortunate to be able to move out for the worst of the works - especially as these are works that I could not do myself.
• Steels arrived, requiring a wall to be cut to move them to the back garden.
• Builders installed Acrow props, took down external walls, and built the first frame with a crank.
• The ceiling came down, revealing a leak that was fixed just in time.
• I chose and ordered garden doors after much deliberation.
• The courtyard wall was built using reclaimed bricks.
• Another steel went in, and the final wall came down, opening up the space.
• Skylight and roof construction began, with slanted battens for drainage.
• A mistake with a steel length was corrected to maintain proper light angles.
• The plumber addressed issues, revealing rotten joists, which were resolved by installing a new steel beam.
