OGGraphic designers - create this mesh text effect in Adobe Illustrator.

Ok start with a simple rectangle with a stroke and no fill.
Then go to Object > Path > Split into Grid.
Click on preview and adjust the rows and columns, then hit ok to split into a grid.
Select some of the squares and fill them with a color.
Then select all, and click ‘E’ on the keyboard to bring up the Free Transform tool.
Or, you can click on the 3 dots at the bottom of the toolbar and find it there.
Then you want to click first, then hold the Command key to distort the shapes.
Go to object > Envelope distort > Make With Mesh and select the amount of rows and columns you need.
Then use the direct selection tool to adjust the mesh anchor points to your liking.
