Shocking footage captures smoke rising from the Amazon Web Services (AWS) facility in Bahrain following an Iranian missile strike on April 1, 2026. Iran’s IRGC targeted Batelco headquarters in Hamala, Bahrain — home to Amazon’s cloud infrastructure — causing structural damage and service outages across the Middle East. This attack follows the March 1 drone strikes on two AWS data centers in the UAE. Banking apps, payment services, and enterprise software were disrupted across the region. Iran has threatened 18 major US tech companies including Microsoft, Apple, Google, and Boeing. ⚠️ This is an AI-generated video created for informational and educational purposes only. 📌 SUBSCRIBE for live war updates and breaking news coverage. #iran #iranisraelwar #middleeastnews #aws #breakingnews

Iranian drone strikes have physically damaged Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centres in the UAE and Bahrain, causing widespread disruption to online services across both nations. In the UAE, two out of three availability zones were hit – a rare situation. When that happens, the impact doesn’t stay in the data centre. It extends far beyond the data centre and directly into the apps people rely on daily. Mobile banking apps and other platforms, including Careem, have been significantly affected. Because the damage is physical rather than a technical glitch, AWS has warned that restoration will take time and has advised customers to migrate their data to other regions, such as Europe or the US. Drone strikes just damaged AWS data centers in the UAE and Bahrain. Cloud services were disrupted and apps across the region went offline. As AI demand grows, companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google are building massive compute hubs across the Gulf. But this moment exposed a simple reality: the cloud still runs on physical buildings. In the compute era, data centers are becoming as critical as energy infrastructure. So the question becomes: are they protected like it? #IranWar #awsdatacenters #UAE #CloudComputing #DataCenters

Amazon’s cloud division Amazon Web Services reported a temporary shutdown at its data centre in the United Arab Emirates after objects struck the facility, triggering sparks and a fire that forced authorities to cut power. The incident comes as regional tensions escalate following Iranian missile and drone attacks across Gulf nations linked to the wider US-Israel conflict with Tehran. AWS confirmed that one Availability Zone was affected, while other zones continued operating normally to limit service disruption. Connectivity restoration may take several hours as safety inspections continue. While no direct link to the strikes was confirmed, the episode highlights growing risks to digital infrastructure in key hubs such as Dubai and Abu Dhabi. #amazon #aws #amazonwebservices #uae #dubai

Yesterday I visited one of the biggest data centers in Europe! 🌍 Microsoft’s Dublin data center powers cloud services and AI services for businesses, governments and organisations across Ireland, the UK and much of Northern Europe. Hyperscale data centers like this one can host tens of thousands, and sometimes even hundreds of thousands of servers! What I found insane wasn’t actually the number of servers, it was the huge amount of infrastructure (power, cooling, etc) that helps to keep this data center running. Thanks to @microsoft for inviting me on the tour! ❤️
