HEHey Guys! My name is Heena Attry. I am a 2020 MBA grad. from TAPMI, Manipal. Sharing my journey “How I got into Amazon as program manager “
Right after my MBA, I briefly worked at MakeMytrip but was laid off (Thanks to COVID19). Then I applied with a referral at Amazon in June’20 (Thanks @shirshakmohanty for the referral). I got a call from the HR, followed by 4 rounds of interview with some amazing interviewers in July’20. I got my offer letter in the first week of Aug’20 and I joined Amazon on 24 Aug’20.
My interview was mainly related to my past work experience, behavioral and scenario based questions. Also, there were questions related to excel and SQL.
I Framed my examples in relation to the Amazon’s Leadership Principles. Ensuring that each answer has a beginning, middle, and end. Describing the situation, the actions I took, and the outcome. I Prepared short descriptions of situations beforehand.

SWI thought the Amazon return offer meant my life was set.
7 years of coding. Projects. Skills. Resume. Did everything “right.”
Then the freeze hit. 4 months later, still no headcount. No timeline. No clarity. Just… waiting.
But then out of nowhere, my life flipped completely upside down.
A famous motorsport athlete DM’ed me : “Hey, I’m building this new startup. It’s a really massive project, are you open to discussing this?”. And I said yes.
I can’t say much yet. But it’s the kind of idea that feels like a $100M company in your hands. The kind of offer you can’t turn down.
And honestly, it’s terrifying.
Because saying yes means betting on myself for real. Nothing like the smaller apps I’ve built or even posting on social media. This is serious.
Right now I’m locked the f*ck in.
Investor calls lined up over the next few days with massive VC funds and investors out of the Middle East.
It still doesn’t feel real. But I know this is going to be big. And I wanted to take you guys along with me.

STIt took me over 6 months as a content creator to figure this out… and now every time I see another creator making this mistake, I have to tell them.
Because so many creators are leaving money on the table with Amazon affiliate links.
And I’m not here to gatekeep. These are the things I wish someone had explained to me when I started.
1️⃣ Always check Amazon Creator Connections first
If there’s something you’re planning to buy on Amazon, check Creator Connections first.
Brands run limited-time campaigns where they offer higher commissions for creators sharing their products, sometimes 2–5X the normal rate.
My rule: only promote products with great reviews and products you’ve actually tried and loved yourself.
2️⃣ Amazon Bonus Programs
Once you start generating consistent revenue, Amazon may invite you to their tiered bonus programs, where you earn extra payouts for hitting revenue targets.
I didn’t even know these existed when I started and was SHOKED when I got invited to participate.
3️⃣ Stop being afraid to post your links
Creators tell me they don’t want to share links because it feels “too salesy.”
But people come to Instagram to discover products.
And here’s the crazy part:
Even if someone clicks your link and doesn’t buy that product, if they add anything else to their Amazon cart and check out, you still earn a commission.
So stop being afraid to share the link.
4️⃣ I saved the best trick for last… deep linking
This is the trick that helped me 5X my commissions.
Most creators just use the Amazon affiliate link.
But I run my links through a deep linker (I personally use URLgenius).
A normal link opens Amazon in the Instagram browser.
A deep link opens the product directly inside the Amazon app.
Less friction means more completed purchases and more commission for you!
