In late 2018, a routine internal audit at Google revealed a coding error in one of its social platforms. The flaw quietly exposed user data for years without triggering any alarms. Few people noticed, and even fewer understood the scale of the risk. Cybersecurity experts call it the Google+ API exposure incident. The real danger wasn’t hackers actively exploiting it, but how long the vulnerability existed unnoticed. Personal information such as names, email addresses, occupations, and birthdates of up to 500,000 users was accessible through the API, meaning any app with minimal permissions could pull sensitive data without consent. For the average person, this could mean your private details were shared with unknown developers or third-party apps. Google stated that there was no evidence of misuse, yet the exposure of half a million accounts illustrates the scale. And it’s not even the most disturbing part. The most disturbing part is that the flaw persisted for years before discovery, and Google only disclosed it months later. The delayed transparency limited users’ ability to take immediate action. But how can you detect or protect yourself from similar silent leaks? Do this: * Limit the permissions granted to third-party apps. * Regularly review connected apps and remove those no longer needed. * Keep software and accounts updated to reduce hidden vulnerabilities. If a flaw can expose your data for years without anyone knowing, how much of your online life is quietly visible to others right now? If you’re not following @thecyberbubble, you’re relying on luck. That’s exactly how this scam wins.

Google has moved to protect Android users worldwide by shutting down the IPIDEA proxy network one of the largest residential proxy systems on the internet. The network had secretly enlisted millions of devices including smartphones and computers to route internet traffic and mask malicious activity. According to Google’s Threat Intelligence Group the network was widely abused by cybercriminals and state linked actors to evade detection conduct espionage and run botnets. While residential proxies can have legitimate uses IPIDEA’s operation was reportedly exploited for illicit purposes on a massive scale. To disrupt the network Google obtained a U.S. federal court order to seize dozens of domains controlling the network effectively crippling its infrastructure. The company also updated Google Play Protect its security system for Android devices to automatically detect and remove apps containing IPIDEA software preventing further device enrollment. Google says its actions have removed millions of devices from the network significantly reducing the reach of cybercriminals who relied on IPIDEA to conceal their attacks. Experts say the takedown highlights the growing threats posed by invisible proxy networks and underscores the importance of device security. This move represents a major step in combating large scale cybercrime protecting users’ personal data and reinforcing the security of Android devices around the world. #GoogleSecurity #AndroidSafety #CyberCrime #ThreatIntelligence #DigitalSecurity #OceanNewsUK #UK #Ocean #breaking #latest #London More On: oceannewsuk.com 📺Satellite - Asiasat7: Frequency 3880 H, Symbol Rate: 29720
