Amazing 1969 launch of Apollo 11.
The Saturn V, with its 5 F-1 engines, is capable of producing a staggering 35,100 kN of thrust at liftoff. The 3-stage rocket was used to launch the first man to the moon. On top of the vehicle is the Apollo spacecraft, with its service module attached below. Under that, in the payload bay, the Lunar Module rested, waiting for TLI and eventually the lunar surface.
The Saturn V is personally my favorite rocket. It’s history and rate of success bring it to a level of notoriety that will be hard to follow up.

The Artemis I SLS (Space Launch System) didn’t launch from Launch Pad 39B by itself, similarly to how the Apollo 11 Saturn V rocket didn’t start its journey from Launch Pad 39A on its own. Teams on the ground worked tirelessly to build these rockets, roll them to the pad, and prep them for launch.

SUApollo 11 was humanity’s first journey to land on another world. Launched on July 16, 1969, astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins rode the Saturn V toward the Moon — the most powerful rocket ever flown at the time.
After three days in transit, Armstrong and Aldrin separated in the Lunar Module Eagle and touched down in the Sea of Tranquility on July 20. The crew spent about 21 hours on the lunar surface, preparing equipment, resting, and conducting experiments.
During that time, Armstrong and Aldrin performed the first moonwalk — a 2 hour and 31 minute EVA — collecting samples, deploying instruments, and capturing images that defined a generation. Armstrong’s first step came with the words: “That’s one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind.”
They lifted off from the Moon the next day, rendezvoused with Collins in lunar orbit, and returned to Earth on July 24, marking one of the greatest achievements in human history and proving that humans could leave Earth, land on another world, and return safely.

UNEm 16 de julho de 1969, a humanidade decidiu fazer algo que até então só existia na imaginação: pisar na Lua.
A missão Apollo 11, da NASA, não foi apenas um evento histórico — foi o resultado de décadas de ciência aplicada no limite.
O gigantesco Saturn V, com cerca de 110 metros de altura e 34 milhões de newtons de empuxo, lançou a nave rumo à órbita lunar. A espaçonave era composta por três partes: o módulo de comando (onde permaneceu Michael Collins), o módulo de serviço e o módulo lunar Eagle, que levaria Neil Armstrong e Buzz Aldrin até a superfície.
Em 20 de julho de 1969, após uma descida tensa e ajustes manuais de última hora, o Eagle pousou no Mar da Tranquilidade.
Na Lua, os astronautas instalaram instrumentos científicos, coletaram cerca de 21,5 kg de rochas e deixaram equipamentos que ainda hoje ajudam a medir a distância entre a Terra e a Lua com precisão milimétrica.
Mas talvez o maior feito não tenha sido apenas técnico.
Foi provar que a engenharia, a física, a matemática e a determinação humana podiam, juntas, romper a gravidade — e atravessar o vazio até outro mundo.
A Apollo 11 não apenas levou o homem à Lua.
