I started to play with Augmented Reality when it first came out with ARKit back in June 2017, as part of the Apple developers Beta. Looking back and seeing how much progress we’ve made, from Magic Leap 1 released in 2018 to today’s Monocle released earlier this year in 2023 (which is still a dev device), it’s honestly mind-blowing how much progress XR has made in less than 6 years. Can you imagine how insane AR Glasses are going to be 5 years or 10 years from today? How this technology will change the day-to-day lives of everyone? I believe AR will be used in the day-to-day just as much as an iPhone or Android device is used today. What are your thoughts? #augmentedreality #futuretechnology #techlife

👇 Here are also the Specs you should look for: 1️⃣ 𝗖𝗣𝗨 This is the MOST USED component when building Mobile Apps. Whenever your app compiles or creates a build, the CPU is doing the work, so I’d pick the best CPU I can in my budget. M1 Pro is the minimum I’d get for a Macbook, but M4 Pro is 2x faster. 2️⃣ 𝗥𝗔𝗠 / 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝘆 16 GB was enough for a long time, and it’s still ok nowadays, but if you’re buying a new laptop, I think it’s worth getting 24 or 32 GB for future proofing. 3️⃣ 𝗚𝗣𝗨 Not that important for making apps. For ARKit, Reality Composer, 3D rendering, then maybe, or for video editing, but even then, I don’t think it’s worth getting the Max chip from Apple, as a developer. 4️⃣ 𝗦𝗦𝗗 / 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 The 1TB SSDs (and higher) are faster than the 256 or 512 GB variants, so I’d get at least 1TB, and then buy external SSD if needed (they are much cheaper). 💬 Now, the real question: Mac vs. Windows vs. Linux? 😅 Which one? I personally need a Mac because it’s mandatory for making iOS builds. Otherwise, hmm, I was a Windows fan, but now I’d probably still pick a Mac for its build quality and design. ❓ Questions?
