A.It doesn’t matter how many times I say it, so many of the people who come to my workshops don’t believe that being ‘good at art’ isn’t at all the point. I had two workshops last week (it was a big week!) and I heard it time and time again - ‘I haven’t drawn since school’, ‘I don’t count myself as creative’ or even ‘I’m not sure why I’m here’.
But everyone (really, everyone) left totally relaxed, surprised by what they’d created, and inspired to try to explore their creativity more. But how did that happen? Well - firstly, I strongly believe that in order to feel free in our creativity we need a bit of structure. So my workshops are carefully structured to dismantle expectations and then build confidence quickly. Secondly, drawing and painting communally immediately relieves the pressure. It’s quite magical.
