Approximately 49% of Americans are people pleasers (passive). In a world where too many will suffer in silence, Iโ€™m raising Brayden to speak up, even with me. Iโ€™m not in control of him. Ever shared an idea that got ignored, only to have someone else pitch it and everyone loves it? ๐Ÿ˜  Being seen and heard isnโ€™t just a โ€˜nice-to-haveโ€™ โ€” itโ€™s essential for career growth. Remember, itโ€™s not about calling it out every time, but choosing your moments wisely. Donโ€™t fade into the background. Own your voice and stand out from the crowd. Ever experienced this? How did you handle it? ๐Ÿ‘‡ #communication #assertiveness #assertive

Comment MEAN GIRL for tips & scripts to handle subtle exclusion, protect your spot in a group, and navigate one of the most common drivers of mean girl behavior without creating fallout or over-explaining. This can happen when you have a scarcity mindset. Thank you @pamelasilva & @karen for having me on @motherish podcast Outfit: @hunterbellnyc Shoes: @kolaneofficial This is why Mean Girls donโ€™t pick on everyone, they pick on you Sometimes exclusion isnโ€™t about dislike, itโ€™s about perceived replacement. In many groups, someone becomes the version of something whether that being the funny one, the stylish one, the organized one, the connected one. And that role becomes part of how they feel seen, valued, and secure. So when someone similar enters and this person has a scarcity mindset, it feels threatening. Not because you did anything wrong but because similarity blurs identity, triggers comparison, and quietly raises the question: โ€œIf sheโ€™s here, whatโ€™s my place?โ€ Thatโ€™s when you start to see: -subtle distancing -gatekeeping -shifting invitations -a โ€œqueen beeโ€ protecting her position And once the perceived threat is removed, the pattern often resets. Not because the conflict was resolved but because their sense of stability was restored. This is one of the most common drivers of subtle exclusion and why it can feel so confusing when nothing โ€œhappened.โ€ Understanding the pattern helps you respond without overexplaining, chasing, creating fallout, and without trying to prove youโ€™re not a threat. About Dr. Christie Ferrari: Iโ€™m a Johns Hopkins-trained clinical psychologist with a background in CBT, DBT, behavioral psychology, and motivational models. I blend evidence-based strategies with lived experience to help you handle mean girls, navigate parenting challenges, set real boundaries, make new friends, and stop shrinking in your friendships. ries, make new friends, and stop shrinking in your friendships.

Itโ€™s very easy for someone to say that, if a relationship doesnโ€™t work for you, just end it. The reality of that is much harder, especially if those difficult relationships are with your family, spouse or other loved ones. You donโ€™t want to end the relationship altogether, but you recognise that it is causing you emotional pain or even damaging your mental health. In those situations, putting in some boundaries can help to improve the relationship and your own wellbeing. If setting boundaries in relationships is a new thing for you then therapists can be hugely helpful for this. The task is to carefully work out what boundaries will help you to sustain the relationship without it damaging your mental health. For some, that might be setting rules around how often you see them or how much time you spend together. For others it may be practicing the art of saying no. It can be a real struggle to be assertive or express our own needs in relationships in which we feel a sense of duty. So taking time to get clarity on the relationship in therapy can be life changing. #therapy #relationships #therapist #boundaries #confidence #assertiveness #assertive #confident #selfhelp #selfcare #psychology #psychologist

In a world that teaches you to be easy going and pleasant, being difficult is hard. Here are 3 reasons why you should learn to be difficult: 1๏ธโƒฃ When the bully targets you. Fight back, even if you donโ€™t win. Eventually the bully will leave you be and find an easier victim. 2๏ธโƒฃ When you donโ€™t get the grade you aimed for, go ask the teacher why until you understand all the specific reasons and what they are looking for. Even if it takes two hours to learn what you need to get an A and it exhausts the teacher. 3๏ธโƒฃ โ€œIn school as in life, having a reputation for being assertive will help you receive preferential treatment without having to beg or fight for it every time.โ€ - Tim Ferriss Learn to be difficult when it counts. #changeyourlife #personalgrowth #highachievers #peoplepleasing #connectionmatters #successfulpeoplehabits #bedifficult #assertive #humanconnection #humanbehavior #easygoing #relationshipgoals
