AUWe’re excited to share that we’ve reached an important milestone: the new Audiotool Studio is now entering Open Beta.
Our dev team has put a huge amount of work into the next generation of Audiotool, and we’re proud to make this progress available to everyone. This Open Beta marks the beginning of the next chapter: a more modern, more flexible Studio with a foundation built for what’s coming next.
A key part of that future is Nexus. Nexus is Audiotool’s projects API, built on Protocol Buffers, and it defines the building blocks of the DAW: devices, cables, patterns, automation, and more. It allows developers to programmatically create, modify, and analyze Audiotool projects using the same API the app uses internally.
In simple words: Nexus lets other software & apps "talk to" and control the Audiotool Studio.
Developers can build everything from workflow tools and custom interfaces to third-party integrations such as AI mastering, stem separation, or sample libraries and even educational apps for real-time collaboration.
