Explosiveness isn’t talent—it’s trained. ⚡️ Single-leg power, reactive pogo hops, resisted vertical jumps, and heavy front squats are how you build a dominant volleyball vertical. As the game keeps evolving, average work won’t cut it. The athletes who rise above the net are the ones attacking the weight room and the plyos with purpose. Athlete doing kill is @danibazan4 💥🏐🔥

Do basketball players really have high verticals? I was testing my standing vertical, then a basketball player I’ve never met before, Matthew, randomly walked up and wanted to test is vertical. I think Matthew has an above average vertical for a basketball player since I made sure he didn’t cheat his reach unlike most basketball players #verticaljump #basketball #dunk #viral #fyp

The average vertical of the athlete shown in this video is 46.5 inches. Every single athlete in this video also did a completely different workout from one another. My workout focused on generating a lot of concentric force. Josh was doing heavy slow resistance training for his tendons. Dom had a general day. Donovan and John both did plyos, but were on different points in the continuum of plyo exercises. Donovan moved through bigger ranges of motion with longer ground contact times forced by using heavier weights. If you would like a free 69-page guide that goes into the science behind all these different methods, just comment the word "plyo" and I'll DM it over to you

Researchers once measured Stefan Holm’s achilles tendon stiffness & found it was 4x stiffer than the average male & required a force of a 1.8 TONS of force to stretch 1cm. Interestingly, although Holm’s approach vertical was estimated over 50 inches, his standing vertical was only 23in (some reports say as high as 28in, still way below average for a high jumper). His tendons were SO stiff that they needed a collision with the ground to stretch, which allows for a massive amount of energy storage and release. Tendons are so important because muscles are slow: if you contracted your arm at the speed of a single sarcomere, it would take 30 minutes for a full contraction (which is why we have many sarcomeres in series). But this is why we have tendons, which shorten much faster than muscles to rapidly release energy after it’s stored. Stiffer tendons mean greater force output, as described by Hooke’s Law (Force = stiffness × displacement). One reason Holm was able to develop such stiff tendons (& high RFD) is by what he did in his youth. Holm started high jumping at age 11 & did crazy workouts like 20+ sets 60m bounds. He also started lifted later in his career around age 19. Since the majority of the collagen content in tendons is formed by age 17 & children’s tendons have more cells that can respond to shear stress (to increase stiffness), being an ACTIVE athlete in your youth & straining your tendons (through jumping & other plyometric activity) can increase total tendon collagen content & raise your potential for stiffer tendons. 👉DM me CHALLENGE if you want to apply for our FREE THP 6 week challenge: Gain 3 inches of vertical in 6 weeks

Sprinting has always been the ultimate plyometric to me. High forces + short ground contacts. In the recent paper, they compared sprint vs some plyos and found sprinting produced ~2.0x bodyweight in average vertical GRF, compared to ~1.65x BW in the drop jump condition, with substantially shorter contact times. But sprinting gives you more than just a plyometric stimulus. It builds speed, fitness, resilience. That’s why sprinting is the main stimulus in my programming. If you want to see exactly how I develop, coach, and build speed, that’s what Speed Kills was created for: an 8-week speed program with the ebook to explain the process behind it. I’m also releasing GPP Reloaded this Friday. Email subscribers get early access and a special price. It’s the perfect program after a season, coming back from a layoff, or before jumping into something more intense like Speed Kills. 5 things that got me recruited by D2 schools at 5’10” 1. Elite athleticism for my size At 5’10”, you can’t be average physically. I made sure my speed, vertical, and explosiveness popped immediately on film. 2. Consistent production, not flashes Coaches don’t recruit highlights they recruit impact. I produced every game, not just once in a while. 3. Shot-making ability If you’re undersized, you have to be a threat from deep. Being able to shoot off the catch and off the dribble separated me. 4. Defensive pressure I picked up full court, stayed in gaps, and made guards uncomfortable. Effort and toughness show up on film. 5. I marketed myself I sent film. I emailed coaches. I followed up. I built visibility. Talent matters but exposure matters just as much. . . . #collegebasketball #collegeathlete #collegerecruiting #verticaljumptraining #dunk

Did Cristiano Ronaldo really jump higher than an NBA player? The average NBA vertical is around 28 to 30 inches. Ronaldo’s top recorded leap? A wild 41.7 inches, over a meter! That legendary Real Madrid header put his head at 2.93 meters. For comparison, Michael Jordan’s record leap was 48 inches. So yes, Ronaldo cleared the NBA average. Elite dunkers do hit 35 to 45 plus inches, but 41.7 from a footballer? That’s insane. #cristianoronaldo #ronaldo #cr7 #nba #michaeljordan
