PASmall cells. Big implications. 🫁
Yesterday’s diagnosis: Small Cell Lung Carcinoma.
This "small" tumor carries a big punch. When you see this on a slide, look for these 4 classic features:
•Nuclear Molding: Nuclei pressing against each other like a puzzle.
•Salt & Pepper Chromatin: That characteristic finely granular look.
•Azzopardi Effect: DNA from necrotic cells staining the vessel walls.
IHC Profile: Positive for Synaptophysin, Chromogranin, and CD56. Don't forget that Ki-67 is usually >90%!
