You and I both know rest isn’t the solution. Back pain is common, especially for athletes and people who train regularly. But the reason that pain shows up in the first place isn’t always clear. That’s why saying “you need rest” misses the point. Sure, maybe you need to back off, and avoid a few exercises for a few days… But staying active, is PART of the healing process and part of the “figure out what’s wrong” process. You start by paying attention to your body. Ask yourself… “What feels tight?” “What moves awkwardly?” “Where does the pain really start?” These questions will help you unpack what’s really going on underneath the surface. Because once you know what actually might be causing the pain, that’s when you can make real change. You can’t just treat the symptoms…. and rest alone won’t move you past the pain.
