However, this wording is often perceived as more harmful than uplifting. Why? Because by adding phrases such as โ€œeven with the scarsโ€ or saying that someone is โ€œstillโ€ beautiful, you are suggesting that scars of any sort make a person โ€œlessโ€ beautiful. Scars donโ€™t take away from beauty. And in a world where they already stand out, why make it negative? As for the other comment, it took me a while to realize this a few years ago. But when a person doesnโ€™t show or bring up a possible insecurity(such as scars), and someone tells them that this one thing โ€œdoesnโ€™t botherโ€ them or they โ€œdonโ€™t careโ€ about it, it immediately shows that they DO care. And it DOES bother them. Otherwise, why would they be the first to bring it up?
