THWHY I STARTED RESISTANCE BAND TRAINING ⬇️
i've been told by my coach and have realized it in sparring as well, that I tend to stand up higher in some exchanges causing me to lose balance. Practicing with resistance before training gets me warm and sets my core engaged during the rest of my session. I train alone majority of the time, so i aim to build these habits to do in class or sparring.
BENEFITS OF RESISTANCE TRAINING ‼️
1️⃣ Increases core stability - core strength is essential in boxing for balance, rotation, and transferring power from your lower body to your punches. Resistance bands help target core muscles effectively through dynamic movements.
2️⃣ Builds Endurance - Resistance bands allow for high-repetition, low impact training to build endurance without overloading joints.
3️⃣ Enhances movement and agility - in this drill this band is excellent for improving balance, footwork, lateral movements, which improves strength an coordination for better ring mobility! it also improves punching power and speed.
I have tried this drill during my warm up before i start my boxing session & have felt a significant difference it makes when i move and i hit the bag.
