The fast fashion and bedding industries are notorious for being wasteful, resource-intensive, and environmentally damaging. There is a growing need for more sustainable fabrics and change to these industries’ standard practices. Bamboo fiber is on the rise as part of the solution as bamboo is not as water intensive as other textile crops like cotton. And because it is naturally biodegradable, bamboo fits well into a circular economy 🎋 Fabrics made from bamboo are ultra-soft, anti-bacterial, and sweat-resistant, making them perfect for bedding and pajamas. @cozyearth earns sustainability points as a producer of bamboo fiber — find our top picks at our link in bio 🎍 . . #bamboofabric #dogoodhq #sustainablelifestyle #ecofriendlyproducts #sustainablebedding

Bamboo is OUT. It’s not nearly as non toxic, clean or eco friendly as the clothing industry makes it seem! *there ARE a few exceptions - I’ll share more soon!!* Viscose and rayon are NOT natural! And bc I’ve recommended it SO often as a naturopathic doctor and eczema expert …since SO many brands emphasize how soft and non irritating bamboo is 😬👀😒🤯…I fell for it too! I’ve bought many bamboo items for myself and my kids! BUT now that I know better I’m gunna DO better. And it starts with educating!! I’ll no longer buy bamboo as a “natural fibre” and will opt for organic cotton, non super washed wool, Tencel lyocell/modal! Certifications are important here too! Which is why you’ll RARELY find a GOTS certified bamboo bc it’s just NOT clean The chemicals used to dissolve the woody plant into a fibre is usually carbon disulfide which is very toxic! *if it’s made in a closed loop system it’s better for the environment but still…viscose and rayon is actually nothing like the plant bamboo There’s so many nuances and green washing…but now that I’m on a mission to ditch polyester and synthetics for truly natural fibres…I will keep sharing and educating so that you can also make better choices! ♥️Follow along @tiffanyerikacheung_nd for more low tox/non toxic mom and kid wellness! #fyp #relatablemom #naturalfibres #bambooclothing #gotscertifiedorganic organic cotton, Tencel lyocell, Tencel modal, polyester is toxic, swapping polyester for natural fibres, non toxic activewear, organic clothing, eczema baby, eczema clothing, eczema friendly, sensitive skin safe, non toxic lifestyle, non toxic clothing, low tox living, mom life, healthy mom healthy baby, crunchy mom, Canadian mom of 2, healing eczema naturally, eczema tips, mom tips, children’s clothing, organic baby toddler and children clothing

Did you know if it’s bamboo & feels soft — it’s been heavily processed. 🤯🤦‍♀️ Here’s the scoop. Bamboo is a hardwood. Like very strong, hardwood. To turn it into silky fabric, the plant is broken down, dissolved, and re-formulated using significant chemical processing (often to create bamboo viscose/rayon). That doesn’t mean it’s “bad” but it does mean it’s not as natural or low-tox as the green marketing implies. And there are better options out there. 😁 And yes, all fibers go through some processing, but most natural fibers don’t require intensive chemical baths to become wearable fabric. If you’re aiming for lower-tox options, look for fibers that can be mechanically processed instead 👇: Cotton (organic), linen (flax), hemp, wool, alpaca, silk. As always, labels only tell part of the story. Knowing how something is made matters too. 💚 And this is also one more reason we built nook, our low tox household items scanner. To help you take an inventory of what you’ve got, figure out what’s low-tox vs what’s not (because companies are sneaky these days!), & to offer swap suggestions if you need them. 💚🏡 Women’s health | children’s health | men’s health | bamboo fabric is toxic | bamboo fabric is heavily processed

🌿 Step up your sustainable style game with bamboo! 🌿 This eco-chic fabric is nature’s overachiever: growing fast, using less water, and pumping out more oxygen. 🌱 But the magic lies in picking the right process. Opt for bamboo lyocell—it's comfy, cool, and kind to the planet 🌎! Look for "closed-loop" certifications for real eco-gains. 🙌🧦 #SustainableFashion #BambooLyocell #EcoFriendly #FashionForFuture #GuiltFreeStyle #EcoChic #GreenFashion

There’s bamboo… and then there’s bamboo lyocell 🌿 Not all bamboo fabrics are created equal. Bamboo lyocell is made using a cleaner, closed-loop process that keeps the fibres beautifully intact. The result? A fabric that feels noticeably smoother, stronger and more breathable against your skin. It drapes better. It lasts longer. And it helps regulate temperature — so you stay comfortable, even on warmer nights. If you’ve ever slipped into bamboo and thought “this feels different”… you were probably wearing lyocell. Because when it comes to comfort, the details matter. 💚 Link is in the bio to get up to 25% off.

If you’ve been buying bamboo underwear thinking it’s the safe, eco choice for your partner… this video is explains a lot. Bamboo fabric is made using carbon disulphide, a chemical linked to cancer, brain damage, and reproductive issues. Then it’s treated with formaldehyde to make it feel soft. And those chemicals? They don’t wash out. They sit in the fabric and get absorbed through the skin all day, every day. This is exactly why Reer Endz exists. GOTS certified organic cotton only, properly regulated, genuinely non-toxic, no greenwashing. #organic #organiccotton #organiccottonclothing

Day 3: Semi-Synthetic Fibers (aka… it’s not always what it seems) Confession: I love bamboo sheets. They’re marketed as soft, natural, and clean — which makes you feel like you’re making a great choice. But when I started digging into how bamboo fabric is actually made… I realized it’s not quite that simple. Many “bamboo” fabrics are actually rayon, viscose, or lyocell — meaning they start as a plant, but go through a heavy chemical process to become fiber. So they sit in this middle category: natural origin, industrial transformation. This is Day 3 of figuring out what’s actually in our clothes — and turns out there’s more to these labels than meets the eye. If you want me to dig into the “dirty laundry” around bamboo marketing next… let me know 👀 #TextileEducation #MaterialMatters #FiberFacts #SustainableFashion #ClothingLabels

Sometimes the most random things remind you of the things you forgot to circle back on. Linen bedding loading…polyester free wardrobe by the new year? That might be the move. *Polyester dominates 50% of global fiber production but poses serious health risks. Catalysts like antimony trioxide are linked to cancer, while toxic dyeing runoff contaminates groundwater, harming local communities through environmental exposure. #organiccotton #linenbedding #sustainablefashion #ethicalfashion #slowfashion

Most people see the word “bamboo” on a clothing label and instantly think: clean, natural, sustainable. That’s exactly what brands want you to think. Here’s the part they don’t tell you 👇 Bamboo fabric isn’t usually just crushed plants turned into soft clothing. In most cases, it’s heavily processed into viscose or rayon using harsh chemical solvents. So while the source starts as a plant… the final fabric has gone through an industrial process that strips away most of what made it “natural” in the first place. This is what I call green brainwashing. You’re shown words like: “eco-friendly” “sustainable” “plant-based” But if you flip the label and actually read it… you’ll often see: ➡️ viscose ➡️ rayon ➡️ chemically processed fibers Not exactly what you pictured, right? Your brain fills in the gaps based on marketing, not reality. And once you start noticing this… you see it everywhere. Food. Beauty. Clothing. That’s why at Net Positive, we don’t just look at where something starts — we look at what actually touches your skin. Because “natural” isn’t a vibe. It’s a process. And most brands are hoping you never question it.
