A doctor must present you with tangible solutions for your problem not just quote web md
When you go on stage and dance your face you are really missing the point of being a dancer
When you go on stage and cover up your movement by focusing on your forced expression you are disconnecting from the magic of your product.
Your facial expression should be a direct result of your movement and presence to the moment. Let it be as it is.
Whatever you want to expose yourself to, feel in the moment, connect with that’s what your focus should be.
You’re a dancer move your body! Relate your movement to the music. Connect to how that feels to you, physically. Present that. That’s what performance is. Get the job done! Embody any archetype you like. Embody any character you want. But be it in the body! Full body! When you focus on your facial expression you take away from performing fully. Fully in and through the body.
When you think about your face you start acting and stop dancing. If you want to know if someone is a good dancer cover up their face see if you still like what you see. I’m not saying we should stop being charming on tbe dance floor. I am saying we should be dancing on tbe dance floor not covering up our dancing by making faces. And certainly not teaching dancers to do so.
Trust your work is good enough to show up fully as yourself
Trust that you are good enough to show up to get the job done not over act in order to be liked.
