The crib vs floor bed debate has lots of mom’s heads spinning. Let me make it simple. 👇 Your crib is your best friend if your baby is under 12 months, or you just need the peace of mind that your baby is completely safe and contained. The AAP recommends it for the first year for a reason, and honestly? Most babies THRIVE with those boundaries. Your floor bed is your best friend if you’re transitioning away from bedsharing, you’re a nursing mom who is DONE with the 2am crib transfer, or you have an active baby who keeps rolling into the rails and waking up all night. But here’s the SUPER important thing 👇 If you choose a floor bed, the ENTIRE room becomes the sleep environment. That means fully babyproofed. Outlets covered. Furniture anchored. Cords gone. Window locks on. Baby gate outside the door. Every single hazard removed. Because if baby gets out of that bed at 2am, the room needs to be as safe as the bed itself. The best sleep setup isn’t the one that’s trending. It’s the one that actually works for YOUR baby’s temperament and YOUR family. 🤍 💬 Crib or floor bed, what are you working with? Drop it below! And as always if you’re struggling with baby sleep and don’t know where to start comment “GUIDE” and I’ll send it right over for free. #babysleephelp #babysleeptips #floorbed

I wish parents would stop worrying about making their baby's room look like a Pinterest board. Like many first time Mums on the journey, I saved all the posts with the most aesthetically beautiful baby rooms. I was inspired and excited. • Cute bunting around the sleep space • Beautiful name plaques hanging above the cot • Dreamy canopies • Soft, beautiful fairy lights • Perfect blankets and toys styled in the cot I loved scrolling for baby room inspo. But no one tells you that some of these beautiful items are not safe for the nursery. There are no warning labels on posts, images, or online shops that tell you about the serious risks some of these items pose for your baby. I started researching and found out more. This is what I learnt: • Some items just need to be located in a different spot in the room • Some items need to be used in specific ways • Other items should not be allowed in a baby's room If you are planning your dream baby room, remember to prioritise safety. Your baby is the MOST important thing in the room. Comment NURSERY and I'll send you my baby room decorating safety list. #babysafe #nursery #decorating #safely #inspo

Switching from a crib to a floor bed isn’t always about a ‘pretty’ transition. In fact, you might need to remove decor to prepare a safe, open space for your little one. Because when it comes to floor beds, most struggles aren’t really about the bed, they’re about the room. When you remove the crib, you’re also removing the boundary that kept everything else off-limits. That means the whole room has to become a safe, accessible ‘yes’ space. A yes space means: 🏃‍♀️ Your child can move freely 👀 You don’t have to be there to ensure their safety 💛 The environment supports independence instead of restricting it Want a step-by-step checklist for making your room ready for a floor bed? Babies can’t stay in the next to me crib forever, so when the time has come to move babies into a larger cot in the Nursery there will be a period of adjustment. When babies have been sleeping with you for six months or longer, transitioning them into sleeping on their own is often a step too far for some babies.. the best option is to set up a comfy mattress or a single bed in the baby’s room where you can room share and attend to your baby quickly without them waking properly. If you’re sleeping in a separate room, by the time you hear your baby, your baby is fully awake and it can take up to an hour for your baby to settle back to sleep. If you’re right next to your baby, you can attend immediately and resettle your baby with minimal attention, such as, a shush or a pat.. When your baby is sleeping in 4 to 6 hour blocks you’ll be able to sleep in your own bed. Room sharing is for babies that wake up frequently every hour or so.. A really good tip to help your baby adjust to their new cot is sensory cot playtime . Pop your baby in the cot for 5 to 10 minutes every morning . The sensory lights from a projector will make the cot sensory and appealing. Add sensory toys to make the cot space a happy fun place.. if you would like help, support or information about any of the above please contact Evelyn @cheshirebabywhisperer. #cheshirebabywhisperer #gentlesleepcoach #gentlesleeptraining #onlinesleepsupport #cribtocotransition

Now your toddler is standing in the crib like they’re about to drop their first mixtape. 🎤 The nursery-to-toddler-room transition isn’t about “upgrading furniture.” It’s about keeping your child safe and letting them feel like a big kid (without turning your house into a WWE ring). If you’re a first-time parent, this shift can feel emotional and overwhelming: One day you’re rocking them to sleep… Next day they’re climbing the furniture like it’s a jungle gym. In this reel, I’m breaking down: ✨ When it’s actually time to transition ✨ What to change first (and what can wait) ✨ How to keep things safe without killing the cozy vibe ✨ And how to make the room grow with your toddler instead of redoing it every 6 months If your baby is suddenly climbing, escaping, or demanding independence… congrats, you’ve entered the toddler era. Buckle up. 😅 Save this for later and follow for more real-life nursery + toddler room tips for first-time parents 🤍 #FirstTimeParents #ToddlerRoom #NurseryToToddler #ParentingTips #RealLifeParenting

Comment “SAFE” and I’ll DM you the links for my floor bed set up 🫶🏼 Safe sleep is one of the most important topics of conversation when it comes to infants. I have chosen to use a floor bed with my infant instead of a crib, and have researched extensively about all these guidelines that I’ve shared in this video. I hope these tips help you as much as they have helped me! My son will be sleeping in a bedside bassinet in my room throughout the newborn stage. Once he outgrows the bassinet (ours is pretty big so it can up to 6 months old), he’ll be sleeping in the floor bed in his own room. For naps though, the floor bed can be used right off the bat! I’ve heard so many parents sharing how amazing their experience has been with a floor bed, and as someone who used a floor bed with my first born from 8 months old, I can’t recommend it enough! 🤌🏽 . . . #floorbed #montessori #montessoribaby #montessoribedroom #montessoribed

Decorating your baby's nursery is such a special experience, but safety should always come first. While those cute wall hangings, shelves, plants and mobiles look adorable, they can become dangerous if placed within your baby's reach. Babies grow fast, and what seems out of reach today might be grabbed tomorrow. Items like picture frames, stuffed animals, or even lightweight decorations can fall or be pulled into the crib, posing a choking or strangulation risk. Here are some best practices to keep your nursery both beautiful and safe: 🔒 Keep all decorations, cords, and shelves at least three feet away from the crib 🔒 Avoid hanging anything directly above the crib 🔒 Choose lightweight, soft items if you must decorate nearby 🔒 Regularly check for loose or broken parts on any decor 🔒 Remove any toys or pillows from the crib when your baby is sleeping A safe nursery means peace of mind for you and a safer environment for your little one. Enjoy decorating, but always double-check what’s within reach. ✅ Follow for more safety tips so you are aware and prepared. #NurserySafety #BabyProofing #InfantSafety #ParentEducation #momshealthcarenavigator
