When the ladies come out for an evening party and bring their offspring too! Despite the powdery mildew on the leaves, the presence of so many lady beetles is a sign of a healthy, balanced local ecosystem. Protect the predators in your garden by only using natural treatments such as pest exclusion netting and avoid using any treatments that kill all insects, spiders and beetles indiscriminately. 🐞 #ladybeetles #ladybugs #larva #biodiversity #healthyecosystem

🐞 Native ladybug vs. Asian lady beetle. Both are, essentially, lady beetles and the word “bug” in the name of the lucky little red ones native to the U.S. is actually incorrect; kind of like the word “fish” in jellyfish. If you see an Asian lady beetle and are one of those people inclined to fulfill a deeply rooted desire for a false sense of “power” by destroying something weaker than you and labeling it as “conservation” because iNvAsIvE, then I’d reconsider when it comes to the Asian lady beetle. When harmed or killed this spotted little beetle, (who often sports way more spots than the native lady beetles,) will emit a foul smelling odor and secrete a liquid yellow substance known to stain surfaces. Though invasive, the presence of this insect is very intentional. First introduced to the United States in 1916 it was then reintroduced in 1964/65 and finally once more in Louisiana, 1988 where it finally “stuck.” They were intended to act as “natural pesticides,” helping control populations of aphids and scale insects known to destroy gardens and crops. What primarily sets these guys apart from native ladybugs? These Asian beetles can be found in clusters as seen here, their color often varies between shades of red and orange, even dark yellow, they have what some refer to as an M or W behind their heads and they’re known to bite. Apparently. 🐞 • • #asianladybeetle #ladybugs #joeyofthejungle #ourearth #insects

How ladybugs help us #wildlife #nature 🐞 On the surface, this looks like just a group of ladybugs gathered in one place. But what you're actually seeing is nature's pest control system at work. Ladybugs naturally gather where food is available, especially tiny plant-eating pests like aphids. Each ladybug can eat dozens of pests every single day, protecting plants without chemicals. That's why farmers and gardeners love them. When many ladybugs appear together like this, it often means the area is being actively cleaned of har

This tiny insect is a farmer’s best ally. 🐞🌱 Meet the Ladybug, also called a lady beetle, one of the most beneficial insects humans share their environment with. Small, colorful, and harmless, ladybugs are silent predators that protect crops and gardens every day. 📍 Where they live: Ladybugs are found worldwide, on every continent except Antarctica. They thrive in gardens, forests, grasslands, farms, and agricultural fields across North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, and Australia. A single ladybug can eat dozens of aphids per day, along with mites and other plant-damaging pests. By keeping these populations under control, ladybugs help prevent crop loss without chemicals. Bright colors serve as a warning. They are not toxic to humans. But predators learn quickly to leave them alone. Small. Helpful. Absolutely essential. Think ladybugs are just cute little garden friends? Think again! 😳🐞 Their bright red color isn't just for show—it’s a warning sign! It tells predators, "Back off, I taste terrible!" It’s a survival trick called aposematism, and it’s the reason birds usually leave them alone. Nature is wild! 🤯 Did you know this about ladybugs?
