If you’ve ever struggled with your pressed flowers turning brown and dull, this is for you. Most people use heavy books, but without proper airflow, your blooms just suffocate.
How to build a professional-grade DIY press:
1. The Base: Take two sturdy wooden planks. Drill holes in all four corners and sand the edges smooth. 🪵
2. The Lungs: Cut corrugated cardboard to size. The secret is the cardboard—it acts as a ventilator, drawing moisture away so your flowers stay vibrant. 🌬️
3. The Hardware: Thread carriage bolts through and secure with wingnuts to get that firm, even pressure.
4. The Layers: Use normal printer paper as a ‘blotting’ layer to protect your blooms.
Now, your press is ready and waiting for its first garden of love. 🌸

🪻This method creates a nice flat flower that generally will look like you've put a sepia filter on it 📸
🏵️ I let them squish and dry for 4 weeks before I peek
🐝 BE AWARE THO 🐝
🌸 Use page protectors (I did in the video if you look closely) as a barrier if you don't want the tears of your smothered flowers to absolutely destroy your book!
🌼 Make sure the flower makes direct contact with paper- not the page protector- or you will have a sticky gross mess in 4 weeks when the flower dissolves in its acid tears and isn't soaked up by the paper 🥀
