I’ve started doing freelance beta reading reports for debut/up-and-coming authors and I’ve learned so much!
Beta reading is reading a manuscript before it is published and providing your thoughts and feedback from a reader’s perspective.
You’re not proofreading or editing but purely reading with the mindset of a consumer.
You provide feedback on the character development, plot progression, and overall engagement and readability of the novel.
I’ve beta read quite a few different genres now from romance to thriller to non-fiction memoirs, and it’s so interesting to see how my feedback differs for each report I write!
