Meet Birdev, the ever-smiling, ever-hopeful boy from Kolhapur, Maharashtra.
He found out about his UPSC result while shepherding sheep in the hills!
His entire village gathered to celebrate - right where he lives. His father may not know much about civil services, but he always knew: his son is special.
From studying under the open sky to sitting on the school veranda because there was no pucca house this boy rose through all odds to secure AIR 551 in one of India's toughest exams!
Hard work, patience, and belief - that's what brought him here.
I feel blessed to have witnessed his UPSC journey in Pune.
