At the start of 2025, Hannah set a goal to try 100 foods and explore more food combinations. This year, she exceeded that goal in a big way. On camera alone, she tried 138 new foods. Out of those, she liked 33, and 5 became new safe foods. Beyond the numbers, this journey sparked so much more curiosity and confidence. Hannah made a huge effort to try new foods in public settings, many of which happened off camera. These moments didn’t always look big, but they were incredibly meaningful. Trying foods away from home, without the pressure of filming, showed just how much her confidence has grown and how willing she has become to challenge herself even when no one else is watching. This year wasn’t without its challenges. Fires earlier in the year, illness, and multiple wiggly teeth caused setbacks, but they never stopped her. She kept moving forward. We also made the transition to homeschooling, which has helped her tremendously in many ways and supported her growth both emotionally and physically. Hannah has also made a conscious effort to expand where she eats. She has begun trying foods at more restaurants, not just the familiar ones she already knows, and has worked toward building comfort in new environments. She also revisited many of the challenging foods she tried in 2024, and incredibly, added five of those to her safe food list this year. She continues to show up for therapy and make meaningful progress, step by step. As we look ahead, our hope is that she continues to explore more food combinations, try a wider range of restaurants, and when she feels ready, travel to new places. Each new environment brings its own challenges, but also new opportunities for growth as she continues to build confidence and try more at her own pace. @michelledorit

If dinner feels like a daily battle with your picky eater… I get it. For years my son was a classic beige eater. Bread, rice, pasta. That was basically the list. I worried about it constantly. One day I had a simple idea. If pasta was the one thing he loved, why not start there? I mixed fresh vegetable purée into the pasta dough. Pumpkin. Carrot. Beetroot. I never pretended it wasn’t vegetables. I told him exactly what it was. And he loved it. Then a few weeks later something unexpected happened. I made pumpkin soup. I didn’t think he’d touch it. I served it anyway, like I always do. But this time he asked questions. He tried it. And he ate it. When I asked him why, he said: “Because pumpkin is in the pasta… and I like the pasta.” That moment stuck with me. It showed me that sometimes it only takes one positive experience with a vegetable to change how a child sees it. That’s why I turned it into Little Eaters pasta. Veggie pasta made with 35% real pumpkin, carrot or beetroot. No hiding. Just a gentler way to help picky eaters warm up to vegetables. Because if you’re raising a beige eater… you know how heavy that worry can feel. Comment VEGGIE and I’ll send you a special discount for our online store. 🥕

Beige food lover? My son went through a phase where vegetables were the enemy. But beige food? No problem. Bread. Rice. Pasta. Every single day if he could. So I stopped trying to fight it. Instead, I took the one food he loved most and made it a little smarter. Pasta mixed with fresh veggie purée. Pumpkin, carrot and beetroot. And I never hid it. A few weeks later I served pumpkin soup. Normally that would have been an instant no… but he tried it. When I asked why, he said, “That’s what’s in the pasta and I like the pasta.” That one positive experience completely changed his relationship with vegetables. Give it a go, you won‘t be disappointed 😋 #fussyeater #pickyeater

Most “picky eating” isn’t about the food, it’s about pressure. Toddlers are born curious! we just have to protect that curiosity instead of turning meals into a power struggle. Here are 10 things I never say to my daughter about food (and what I do instead): 1.❌ “Just one bite.” → ✅ “You don’t have to eat it, but you can explore it.” 2.❌ “You loved this yesterday!” → ✅ “Our tastes change sometimes.” 3.❌ “You have to finish before dessert.” → ✅ “All foods fit; dessert isn’t a reward.” 4.❌ “You’re such a good eater.” → ✅ “You listened to your body, that’s great.” 5.❌ “Try it for me.” → ✅ “You can decide if your body wants it.” 6.❌ “Don’t be picky.” → ✅ “You’re still learning about new foods.” 7.❌ “Eat your veggies first.” → ✅ “You can choose what to eat from your plate.” 8.❌ “You’re not hungry, you just ate.” → ✅ “You can trust your tummy to tell you.” 9.❌ “If you don’t eat, you’ll be hungry later.” → ✅ “It’s okay to be done for now.” 10.❌ “That’s yucky.” → ✅ “It just has a different flavor or texture.” We use neutral language, serve a mix of familiar + new foods, and keep meals calm and predictable. No pressure, no bribes, no separate meals. If you want your child to enjoy food long-term, start by making the table a safe place and not a performance! You got this!!

Excuse me while a grab a tissue 😭😭😭 I put carrot sticks 🥕 in my son’s lunch box multiple times a week for about two years straight and every time they would come back uneaten. I served them regularly at dinner - steamed, roasted, with flavorful spices, in cute shapes. Still, nothing ❌ Then, one day, I challenged him to a crunch contest and he was all about it. The friendly, pressure-free competition was just the thing to get him to try a bite. And guess what, he enjoyed them. From that day forward, he started eating carrots 👏 And now, in a turn of events that would absolutely shock that woman steadfastly packing a vegetable that got rejected 100% of the time, he now eats them....of his own accord 😳 No joke, this kid grabs them out of the fridge to nosh while he watches shows. Picky eating isn’t your fault and it’s not something you can “treat.” It’s a common, age-appropriate biological response to unfamiliar foods that can be compounded by temperament, genetics, and other environmental factors. The formula we’ve found that is the most likely to work 👉 Time + patience + evidence-based practices...and a little luck You can do everything “right” when it comes to feeding your kiddos and they still might just need time. Sometimes, lots of time ⏰ Hang in there, parents. There is light at the end of the tunnel! ❤️ Want some practical tips for getting through picky eating phases? My son wouldn’t eat vegetables. Not one. So instead of fighting harder, I changed the approach. I #decided to meet him at his level. Pasta was already safe. Pasta was already loved. So I created something that made veggies feel a little less scary and a lot more fun. Pasta made with 35% real pumpkin, carrot or beetroot, in playful shapes that spark curiosity instead of resistance. This isn’t about replacing real vegetables. Whole veggies will always be the goal. It’s simply a gentle way to show kids that vegetables can exist in different ways… and over time, those small positive experiences start to change how they see them. If you’re deep in the picky eating trenches right now, please know this: You’re not failing. You’re just parenting a picky eater. And sometimes meeting them where they are is exactly how you move forward. 🥕 Share this with a mum of a picky eater! #pickyeater #fussyeater #kidsfood
