“What scares me most is the level of science illiteracy.” @neildegrassetyson is exactly right. And what’s more? The promise of America is for each individual adult to be able to make their own decisions about their own bodies—whether it’s to get a vaccine or to make decisions about their bodily autonomy. In America, we used to get to decide for ourselves. There were choices and we had science to back our choices up, regardless of what they were. Now we have a government that is choosing for us and disregarding centuries of scientific data. #votethemallout #midterms2026 @hasanminhaj great interview 🙏🏻

Hard convo, honest take. Iceland’s near-zero Down syndrome births aren’t state policy—they’re individual decisions. Screening is optional, termination is voluntary, and pro-choice means defending choices you wouldn’t make yourself. In this video I break down what “choice” truly entails, the ethics and disability-rights concerns, and why calling this “eugenics” misses the mark. Watch before reacting, bring nuance, and keep it respectful. 🫶🏽 #ProChoice #ReproductiveRights #BodilyAutonomy #InformedConsent #PrenatalScreening #Bioethics #DisabilityEthics #DownSyndromeAwareness #Iceland #MedicalEthics #ReproductiveJustice #PolicyDebate #PublicHealth #MediaLiteracy #WatchToTheEnd

I need surgery to complete my postpartum journey 🫠🙃 In this week’s episode of Tell Me In a Good Mom I share that I have some retained placenta that needs to come out, and my doctor also found a pretty large cyst on my ovary — apparently it’s from a failed ovulation cycle, and all the postpartum hormones are supercharging its growth. Torsion risk 🫠 I’ve been bleeding for weeks and weeks. I’m on medication to try to shrink it, but if that doesn’t work we head back to the OR. 🫠🫠🫠🫠 that’s genuinely all I know right now. I find out more next week after my next scan at the hospital. I’m not spiraling - I know this can happen pretty frequently after pregnancy. I’m not fine-fine either (mostly bc I’m just hoping to regain bodily autonomy again ya know what I mean). I’m just... dancing with my baby on a Friday and waiting for information. It doesn’t feel fair to women that this type of stuff can happen postpartum, but we carry on! Bc we tough ♥️♥️♥️ will keep you posted. 🤍

The practice of applying adhesive tape to an infant's eyelids to modify inherited ocular morphology is clinically unsubstantiated and raises profound ethical, medical, and psychological concerns. From a physiological perspective, the periorbital tissue of a neonate is exceptionally delicate; external mechanical pressure not only lacks the capacity to permanently alter genetically determined eye structures but also poses significant risks of dermal irritation, infection, and potential interference with visual development. Furthermore, these interventions signal the detrimental intrusion of unrealistic aesthetic standards into early childhood development. By prioritizing cosmetic modification over bodily autonomy, such practices may adversely affect a child’s burgeoning self-concept and psychological well-being. Ultimately, infants are entitled to medical protection and unconditional acceptance, rather than being subjected to non-consensual alterations of their natural, diverse facial features." The internet loves a false binary. Either reject domestic life completely… or accept the ideology that says women belong in the kitchen. But those were never the only options. You can bake bread. You can crochet blankets. You can build a cozy life and cook dinner for your family. You can love homemaking and still believe in bodily autonomy, human rights, and telling authoritarian bullshit to fuck right off. Turns out they forgot to mention there was a third option. Alexandria Masse is a Canadian textile artist making a powerful statement about reproductive rights. She’s creating the Birth Control Tapestry, a massive project where she crochets her birth control info sheet word for word. Each stitch is done during her menstruation week, making the work deeply personal and tied to her own body. Since starting in 2025, she has poured months of dedication into this piece, using kilometers of yarn to build a tapestry already larger than herself. The artwork sparks conversations about bodily autonomy, women’s rights, and healthcare access, turning knowledge into a tangible, immersive experience. Alexandria hopes to display the finished tapestry in a museum or gallery, so visitors can see the full scale and feel the history and struggles woven into every stitch. Her project blends artistry, activism, and education, showing how creativity can make a real difference. Follow her journey on Instagram 👉 @alexandria.masse, where she shares updates and reflections on her process. #AlexandriaMasse #BirthControlTapestry #TextileArt #ReproductiveRights #WomensRights

It was my baby’s first home. It carried her, protected her—it's sacred, made up of both her father and I. I never expected to have to fight for something that was literally part of my own body. No one spoke to me directly—even after my partner and doula asked them to. Even though it was on my birth plan and promised to me it take it home with us. My placenta is not “medical waste”—especially when hospitals profit tens of thousands from it. I’m sharing this because too many people don’t realize: it's illegal for the hospital to take your placenta. You have the right to ask questions, to say no, and to demand accountability. My bodily autonomy is not up for negotiation. I got it back today🥹😍 and I'm so grateful for the other nurses who were attentive and understanding that I'd want to have it back. Even when you're not heard the first time, keep speaking up for what you KNOW you want ✨✨✨✨

Women's History Month - Before 1978 ab0rtion in Italy was illegal. This woman is sadly talking about back alley ab0rtions (not miscarriages, the word in Italian is the same but from the context of the whole interview we can understand that's not what she's referring to). At the same time marital r**e was legal so you can imagine many women had no agency and no way to choose whether to have children, when to have them and how many. As seen in another interview, one of her daughters went on to have two children. She couldn't fathom having more (probably because of her mother's experience). She also underwent ab0rtions but then, thankfully, the pill was legalized and she was able to be in charge of her family planning despite her husband wanting up to 6 kids. She had the agency her mother yearned for. When saying no to one's husband wasn't an option, the pill was really all you had to partially defend your bodily autonomy. May we never forget these stories. [Interview from "L'amore in Italia" (1978)]

The image highlights a deeply concerning intersection of digital privacy and reproductive rights. It focuses on the case of Celeste Burgess, a Nebraska teenager, and her mother, Jessica, who faced legal repercussions after law enforcement obtained their private Facebook messages. This serves as a stark, real-world example of the "human cost" that Meredith Whittaker, President of Signal, warns about regarding mass surveillance. When private digital communications are accessible to authorities, they can be weaponized against individuals seeking or providing medical care. The core of the argument here is that privacy is not about having something to hide, but about having the safety to live without fear of state intervention into personal health decisions. If the goal is truly to keep people safe, the solution isn't more monitoring—it's robust, end-to-end encryption. Encryption ensures that private conversations remain just that: private. Without these protections, every message sent becomes a potential piece of evidence, turning our own devices against us. This case is a wake-up call that the fight for digital privacy is inseparable from the fight for bodily autonomy and fundamental human rights in the modern age. #PrivacyMatters #DigitalRights #EndToEndEncryption #ReproductiveFreedom #DataPrivacy

Privacy, health, and the boundaries of youth sports—where do we draw the line? 🛑 This image has been sparking a massive conversation across the country. A parent recently shared a screenshot of a high school sports registration form from the UHSAA that asks incredibly personal, invasive questions regarding a student-athlete's menstrual history. We’re talking about specific dates, frequency, and cycles. The big question everyone is asking: **Why?** Proponents often argue these questions are standard medical screenings to identify "Female Athlete Triad"—a condition involving energy deficiency and bone health. However, in an era where data privacy is under a microscope, many parents and advocates feel this is a massive overreach. Does a sports association really need to store this sensitive medical data? Why isn't this information kept strictly between a family and their private doctor? The intersection of student privacy and athletic requirements is becoming a legal and ethical battlefield. As sports become more competitive, the paperwork seems to be getting more intrusive. It raises a vital point about bodily autonomy and what we consider "necessary information" for a teenager to simply play soccer with her friends. What do you think? Is this vital medical prep or an invasion of privacy? ⬇️ #HighSchoolSports #PrivacyMatters #StudentAthletes #YouthSports #SportsParentING
